Chucho was more skilled than Barrera IMO. Very nice post by Addie touching on what I'd have liked to have said already but hey, here goes.

Anyway, bloody good, and an ATG fighter. What a left hand. His left-hook-cum-uppercut is one of my favourite 'signature' punches of the last era.

Not one of those fighters though. Whilst his ability to bounce back gets him kudos from moi, losing twice to Junior Jones, a very good rather than brilliant fighter, let's him down IMO. Wouldn't usually matter but he got totally overwhelmed and well beaten by the best fighter he faced as well

Still, I think he got the better of the trilogy with Morales. That's a massive credit to him.

Oh and ADDIE what do you think of Canto's skillset? IMO a one dimensional fighter but what a dimension.

An excellent fighter, though i probably don't rate him as highly H2H in any one division as some do, he was still formidable across at least 2 weightclasses.

I'd probably look back with more fondness were it not for the Pac fight.terrible effort and showed real dog there and while Manny is a great fighter he's not nearly THAT good, as shown in his fights with Morales and Marquez, fighters of similar talent and not a million miles away in style either from Marco.

That was the kind of performance that had people forever writing off the likes of Curry as a great fighter.Marco's been lucky not to suffer the same fate, albeit the Marquez fight and last with Morales cleared the air after it a bit.

MAB perhaps would have suffered the same fate had he not came back and defeated his nemesis for a second time. I've always maintained that the third Morales fight is not only Barrera's best win, but his most important one. It was either going to make or break him.

True.I was really rooting for him in that fight as well.Morales smugness was getting on my nerves before it.
