Well said, hear, hear. We can bag anyone if we try hard enough. Pac is well up in the ATG's now.

I'm not sure exactly where he should rank, wait till he is done and then i'll try and give an answer.

What i will say is we are viewing an exceptional fighter now, a real bona fida all time great. I have under estimated him in the past but these days are gone, he has turned himself into a complete fighter, power, speed, footwork, angles for his punches etc he has almost everything now. His weight jumping has close to no parallels. Pac is for real and it is no disgrace to put him in a discussion with any of the all time greats in my opinion.

I just can't wait for him and mayweather, it has to happen

Achievment wise he has a case to be ahead of Henry Armstrong imo, nothing wrong with having him in the top10 all time, although Im not sure I'd have him there

Wow, that's a pretty bold statement.

I probably have him in the low to mid twenties on my list.

    Mayweather will beat him.

Either way that won't matter though, he has done everything anyone has ever had to do to be considered great.

as a fighter that jumps weight he looks up there but if he beats mayweather and mosley at welterweight how far away would he be from making the top ten all-time welterweight list

If he does he's top 10 p4p for me and of course looks very good as a WW as well. That would be about equal to Duran's achievements (p4p), without the embarassing losses.

He's a great fighter but I think we're getting carried away by putting him in the top 10. I don't want to disparage his achievements and personally I really like Pacman as a fighter but his last 3 opponents were flawed in some way and past their respective bests; ODLH was possibly weight drained and past his prime, Hatton was past prime and overratted for me (aside from Tszyu who did Hatton ever beat?) and Cotto was not the same fighter he was pre Margarito. If he can beat PBF and SSM then this will go some way towards getting him possible top 20 status but top 10 is just way too silly guys.

I think Top 10 Welterwight of all-time is definitely on if he wins his next 2 fights at the weight. How would you see Pacman getting on vs SRR, SRL, Tommy Hearns etc?

Solely speaking on this win i don't think it should be knocked. Cotto didn't look any different to me as before Margarito. Early on he was fighting very well. And he showed all the heart in the world. It's not like he looked past his best in comparison to say the Mosley fight.

I know that some fighters can be ruined from a bad fight like Vargas or Lacy for instance, but i don't like letting that hold much water, Cotto is a top fighter of today's era and in his prime.

I think it could possibly be called silly not to have him in top 10 if he convincingly beats both Mayweather and Mosley. I mean what more can he do? What could he possibly do in that case to merit a top 5 in your eyes? Beat both the Klit brothers?

To beat the best at 147 for a guy that started at 105 is a fantastic achievement. And if he beats Mayweather and Mosley, that's just what he has done. And don't start with "well, he was really past it... etc", I'm so tired of that I could puke. It's very rare that ATGs meet each other when they're both at their peaks, you can only beat what's in front of you. And that's what Pac is doing.

before this fight i would agree.
but i think this was a painful loss to both body and mind and this may see cotto go into a post prime stage of his career, perhaps he may fight hatton next year

Oh yeah i agree that this fight might see Cotto go into a post prime stage of his career. What i was saying that the Margarito didn't put Cotto directly into a post prime stage of his career, imo. He started very well last night and Pacquiao just beat him.

I don't usually rate fighters until they retired but I'll make an exception with Pac

    Anywhere between 28-18 I believe

yeah he started better than i thought he would , i agree there is a tendancy these days for a fighter to suffer a defeat and all of a sudden he is in decline when in fact he was probably just beaten by the better fighter on the night
