The only reason body punching is not much useful against the champion, is that whenever you are working his body, he is working your head.
You are really trying to convince us, that Scott is slicker than Haye, or faster than Eddie Chambers..... Whoa. And how'bout his chin?
The substance is, the champion has already deal with fast boxers, as like with powerful boxers, ans both Stiverne and Scott aren't the top in those two categories; Fury, on the other hand... He's better than Wach, no doubt about it, and he's young and progressing; he could really be the biggest trouble ever.
None of the guys in this list have beaten the same level of opposition Povetkin has. Yet they'd all beat him? :rofl:rofl:rofl
There´s a big difference between Byrd/Chambers and Scott though. First of all Scott is a tall heavyweight, not as tall as Klitschko, but obviously not outsized as Byrd and Chambers were. And the second point speaking for Scott being a harder match for Wlad than Byrd and Chambers were, is the combination of footwork and jab that Scott possesses. Here is one who can match it with Wlad, speed- and jab-wise. Imo this could be an interesting fight tactically and technically. If you look for someone being able to outbox Wlad, imo Scott is your best bet.
Okay. That, is what i call a clever and polite answer. You have just stated some interesting points that makes sense, instead of "he win because of yes". What the hell are you doing on ESB??????:think:think:think
You said Lewis fought guys CONSIDERABLY shorter than Wlad's opponents You can check on boxrec you realize this right. 10-0 Biggs 6'5 Tucker 6'5 Grant 6'8 Vitali 6'8 Anwikande 6'8 Golota 6'4 Jones 6'6 Garber 6'6 Noel Quarless 6'4 Derek Williams 6'5 But list all the 6'4+ guys Wlad fought and let's compare how they stack up to 10-0 Biggs 6'5 Tucker 6'5 Grant 6'8 Vitali 6'8 Anwikande 6'8 Golota 6'4 Jones 6'6 Garber 6'6 Noel Quarless 6'4 Derek Williams 6'5
Scotts jab is good! But most of the time he does not follow up with combinations. He throws 2 jabs and thats it. I said before the Glazkov fight that it is hard to win fights like this. After the fight Scott was crying yet I know that it is not impressiv at all (for judges) if a fighter jabs most of the time and is on his back foot the whole fight! It just is not very impressiv for the judges! Wladimir at the otherhand has this jab-straight right hand combination! Wladimirs Jab is much better because he first throws it with power and second because he comes up with combinations after the jab. Something Scott hardly does. Scott is a great defense boxer with a a good jab! Yet he is featherfisted hardly throws great combinations and his stamina might be not very good (in the Glazkov fight it looked like that) also we dont know how good his chin is.
That´s nonsense. If you´re a professional judge you have to score fights by clean punching, effective aggressiveness, ring generalship and defense. It doesn´t matter if you´re not impressed by Malik´s style. He did the clean punching in most of the rounds, had the ring generalship and defense in almost every round on his side. You cannot score the fight for Glazkov by sheer aggressiveness, when in fact he was ineffective with his aggression. The scoring had nothing to do with being not impressed by Malik´s style, the thing that mattered for the judges was Main Events. I just said it would be interesting to see Wlad fighting someone who could match him with his key punch, the jab and in terms of speed. And Scott does fit into that category. And with his great defense i think he at least could cause Wlad some problems.
It is how it is. It is not impressiv! With this fight style you open all doors to get robbed! I never said Glazkov won the fight! I just said Scott did not looked impressiv by winning the fight! We all know it is very hard to get a decision against the "home fighter"!!! And it is even harder with a style like Scott has! No Scotts Jab is not so good how you think! I already explained why. Scott does not follow up with good combinations. He does not have any power behind the jab. It is just a punch to score point on score cards in the hope the judges scores it. Not very impressiv as I said. And especially you cant rely on it. Wladimirs jab is on a total different level. Wladimir is also faster. Glazkov had easy work getting behind the jab and getting inside Scott. But he could not get through Scotts defense skills. He had Scott on the ropes many times. Yet he was just not able to land anything because Scott is a defense master. He even went back to the middle of the ring because he was not landing anything when he had Scott on the ropes. I was impressed by Scotts defense skills. Not by his jab or combinations.
