Spence did not go life and death with Kell Brook. It was a good competitive fight then Spence turned it up and took over breaking Brook’s will. It’s no disrespect Brook lost to Spence. Porter fought his best fight ever against Spence yet Spence showed his quality and put Porter on his arse something no one else has done.
Yes he did. Brook was winning on most people's cards or they at least had it even until the headbutt in round 8 smashed his orbital socket into pieces and he was up on 2 of the judge's cards going into that round too. The fight only turned in Spence's favour after the eye injury and that was a damaged goods Brook too. Broner dropped Porter Emilio Correa Jr. KO'd him in 2 in the amateurs And Dominic Wade dropped him hard in the amateurs
These posts are exactly why Hagler isn't overrated. Hearns is an ATG, that win alone is better than any GGG win. You're talking like Hagler didn't stop him in 3... Hagler was also on the decline by then. Along with that, you have wins like Minter, Vito, Watts, Monroe, Hamsho, Mugabi, Durán ect. Do you realize how close that fight was? Leonard barely won it, then refused a rematch. Hagler was shot by that time too, the Mugabi WAR took a lot out of him after losing motivation for the sport and a good 60 fights behind him. Duran was a tricky *******, and a beast, even at 160. Durán wasn't "nowhere near his prime", he was only 3 years past it, if at all. He was excellent that night. GGG's two best wins are in complete question, going the distance and being held to razor thin wins against Sergey and Jacobs. Neither of whom are as good as Duran... Hagler had no super-middleweight division to go to, especially in his prime between 79-83. Hagler in his prime was a small MW, and to go up in weight would mean giving up a nearly a stone against guys like Saad Muhammad, Dwight Qawi, Michael Spinks ect.
If he had just made the fight with Jessie Vargas at the time to unify the IBF and WBO he could've commanded more money and likely could've beaten Thurman and Spence then maybe move to 154 where he could've picked up a belt. Fighting GGG was just ridiculous.
If he avoided GGG and stayed below 160 he could have made a real impact. But once the eye socket got crushed it was really over for him as a top tier fighter. His upcoming fight with Crawford is a joke really. Bud is going to bust him up.
