The deal he's on isn't doing his development any favours, he needs to fight much more often... as he's said himself.

As for the weight  he'd only make 135 if they chopped his leg off.

To use the excuse of him fighting at welterweight is a large part of why he is performing badly is a **** excuse!

If you're good enough you're big enough, it's just been used as a smokescreen by some, if anything boxers boiling down too much and been weight drained too much would be a bigger issue (although I don't think Gavin is weight drained at 135).

I have to laugh when I hear that a boxer pays someone to tell them what to eat...

Is it really a sports science to tell a fighter he has to eat lots of fruit & veg instead of MacDonalds & monster munch?

    The mind boggles:D

i think he's fine at light welter or welter to be honest, though id prefer to see him at light welter, think hes a bit sharper and has a bit more dig.

his activity pisses me off a treat though, hes not the youngest prospect out there, hes older than khan, and he fights once every blue moon, its not his fault its frank worrens, why doesnt he have him out more often?

Frankie may have been fit enough to throw punches for 12 rounds at welter. But he quite clearly could have been in better shape. Look at Floyd or Manny , they both moved up from much lower weights and are ripped whenever they get in the ring. Gavin could easily make 140 just by being well conditioned. That is obvious just by looking at his physique. Body fat does nothing to help him as a fighter. I expect he could get close to 135. Judging by how he looked at 140. Maybe he does not know how to do it, or lacks dedication to do it. I hope Arnie gets it right with him.

If Frankie wants it he can clean up...:yep

I have watched Frankie through the amateurs and had the opportunity to see him train at Arnie's...:yep

There are no big changes required, just subtle tweaks to bring it all together, it's a slow cook, getting to the top don't happen overnight, it will come, believe me it will come...:deal

Have him fight someone who will come at him non-stop, ie: Matthew Hatton.

Massive talent, yet the lack of activity is not doing him any favours as well.

Gavin didn't really struggle with Woodhouse, he beat him easily. Just because he looked flat everyone's wetting themselves, same as they did after Groves had his scare against Anderson.

Oh yeah, why didnt everyone think of that, because sports science really is that simple. Nothing about Casein Proteins (slow to break down) before bed and faster acting proteins before and after a work out. As for Carbs lets not get started. You stick to your fruit and veg though LMAO!

at light welter very far at welter he would struggle with the size of some of the bigger welterweights imho.
frankies skill should not be doubted

Take no notice of Dunky's nutritional advice - his diet consists mainly of shortbread, offal and heroin.
