Rob, hold your trap. Ive never seen a fighter struggling who wins eight out of four rounds. Woodhouse never hurt him, never overwhelmed him, and was never ever in with a shout of winning.
Problem being is that everytime a decent prospect shows up there is invariably talk of them fighting the best in the division in their developing years and people getting way ahead of themselves. JDG being a prime example. Has Gavin even had 15 fights yet? Gavin is still learning and yet people are writing him off already due to one less than stellar performance. We need some perspective.
There are too many fair-weather fans on ESB sometimes. They watch one fight and go off the deep end. Theyve got no perspective and, in many cases, dont appreciate what fighters do in the ring. So youre 100% right, Steve. Its better to have a hiccup when youre a prospect than when youre facing world-level guys. Thats how you develop. Gavin sees he needs to do more around his diet so he can be his best. He needed the Woodhouse fight to show him that.
Totally agree. The Woodhouse fight was a much needed 'learning' fight and a wake-up call, nothing more.
Sorry u don't like that ****y but it's true. The world amateur champ should have a world class trainer an he hasn't got one. And frankie Gavin is not dedicated and couldnt give a toss about his weight or his training or anything like that...the sky sports fellas and fuxking everyone has said it
Oli,the problem with your thoery is that Arnie may not be a world class trainer yet, but he could be. A world class trainer is only world class if he has the world class boxer, and frankie could, if, like it looks like he is gettin off his fat arse and dieting and training right. Frankies movment is some of the best ive seen off these shores for a while, and when he gets it right i can see him going a long way
I thought there were never any issues with his attitude, hardest trainer in the gym living a clean life was the official party line. how has his attitude changed? i thought the only issues were diet which has been sorted now......or were there others like lots of people alluded to?
I watched Gavin v Woodhouse weeks after it took place and it was not as bad a performance as people were it making out. How one of the judges scored it for Curtis I'll never know.
Rob you need some specs mate if you gave Curtis 4 rounds. He didn't win 4 close rounds let alone 4 clear rounds.
so he trains hard then. how has his attitude changed? previously you have said there has never been a problem with his attitude so I'm curious how it has changed? for the better I assume / hope.
