His speed and power at Heavyweight are going to be decreased along with his already mediocre stamina. We won't even discuss his Glass Jaw which could not take punches from fighters that were 40 pounds lighter and not near the power of Wlad Klitschko. And to make it worse he fights with his left at his waist which you can do if you are Ali or 6'8" like Vitali Klitschko but Haye is neither of these things. The guy is going to get his Glass Jaw shattered by either Klitschko and he is going to look like a fool with all the talk he has done. If I were Haye I would shut up and actually fight someone and not a Monte Barrett level opponent. My prediction still stands, Haye is going to handpick Maskaev or Ruiz for his next fight and tell us how "dangerous" they are and how "risky" a fight with them would be. Ruiz only has 2 KO's this DECADE for christ sakes he is awful.
I have seen Haye live three times - when he got knocked down against Mock, when he destroyed Enzo Mac and when he KO'd Barrett. His hand speed is very impressive for a heavyweight and his foot speed is pretty decent too. Will this be enough for him to negate the height and reach advantages of the Klitschkos? I hope so but probably not. Haye's best bet is - like Corrie Sanders - for an early KO of Wlad. Haye's vulnerability means once he starts eating Wlad's jab it's fight over. And Vitali would be a nightmare for Haye because of his excellent chin. I was gutted when Haye pulled out against Wlad.
Rib wrenching fast...fastest mouth of the west...fastest out of a championship fight...fastest to sign fight with Monte barrett after Monte was KO'd in 1 round by Cliff Couser (26 wins, 20 losses), this guy is super fast!!!!! If he ever gets his dream fight with either Bitchko he will be the fastest fighter to disappear into nothingness afterward. David Haye deserves full honors as the PfP fastest boxer.
Damn......it never ends. Chagaev is a ****in bum. That was an easy fight. Good matchmaking for team Klitschko. Chagaev had no chance. Haye can knock Klitschko out... Damn......it's pretty ****in simple. I think my 8 year old niece could figure this **** out.
I don't agree with this. I think Froch has skills, but just not the tallent and athleticism to pull them off fluidly. He's not an unskilled fighter though.
It is rather predictable. When Wlad wins, the opponent had to be bad, instead of Wlad just being that good. :yep Haye will end up drooling on the canvas if he gets in the ring with Klitschko. He is just too damn small to handle Wlad's power.
Really? This is what I posted in a thread before the fight... I don't understand how anybody can think Chagaev has a chance. I'll break it down for ya'll. 1) Chagaev has an amateur style based around his 1-2. Generally, this is not a bad thing, especially if a fighter has a more diversified offense, but considering Chagaev lacks the speed to put together fluid combinations against upper level opposition, (for the heavyweights basically just Wlad, Haye and Vitali, although Chag was having trouble doing this against Valuev who is neither upper level nor fast), this will be determintal against Klitschko who has height, reach, and athleticism advantages over Chagaev and also uses the 1-2 as his main offensive weapons. 2) Chagaev is a southpaw who likes to use an in and out, high guard attack, but does not look particularly fast with his foot movement and looks to be just average with his hand speed, but either way slower than Klitschko in both categories, despite being the smaller man. Since Chagaev's main offensive weapon is his left straight, and with his stance it's the farthest hand from Klitschko, he will be in a world of hurt when he finds out how hard it is to connect on Klitschko with his straight left, just as Ibriganov came to find out. 3) Chagaev lacks power and speed. Against Valuev who is incredibly slow, Chagaev didn't appear much faster, and against many opponents his power seemed questionable at best, but certainly not in the league of Peter, Haye, Vitali or Wlad. Maybe slightly higher than a guy like Povetkin, but less than that of Ibriganov. His footwork is also not fast enough to allow him to shoot in with his 1-2 and avoid getting hit. 4) Chagaev doesn’t have the defense to cope with Klitschko. While Chagaev’s defense is better than 95% of the heavyweight division, that isn’t saying much. He does move his head, and he does hold his hands high, and can sometimes be an elusive target, but he has faced limited opposition who did not have the talent or the fortitude to offer any serious threat to Chagaev, yet against recent opposition, Chagaev has not appeared to be much of a world beater either. Still though, he won’t be able to avoid the more athletic and faster Klitschko and Chagaev doesn’t have the defensive ability or style as the Jeff Mayweather trained Ibriganov. 5) He has been injured often, hasn’t looked good in his last few fights, and may very well be on the decline. Chagaev may very well come into the fight in the best shape of his life, although it won’t be enough, but it’s doubtful considering his layoffs and the fact that he isn’t getting any younger. So basically if you put all these factors together, Klitschko will bide his time as Chagaev finds out right away how hard it is to hit Klitschko especially with his limited offense, as Klitschko jabs away and occasionally lands right hands. Chagaev will then have to respond desperately as he does not have the defense of Ibriganov, but his attack will be futile as he doesn’t have offensive versatility to frequently land on Klitschko nor the power to capitalize when he does. This fight actually has the makings of spectacular KO as the severely overmatched Chagaev will have nowhere to run and will eventually, inevitably be brutalized by Klitschko. This is a set up fight to make Klitschko look good against an opponent who has no chance. Hopefully Haye will fight an opponent, perhaps one with a chance, and brutalize him as well to set up a super fight in the NEAR future. But fans rooting for Chagaev, don’t get your hopes up as your man has no chance. SO basically, you're wrong, cuz I knew he was a bum all along.
Good matchmaking by team Klitschko??? They were ready for Haye who pulled out with an undocumented injury, team Haye weas the matchmaker for Wlad - Chagaev. Chagaev was undefeated unlike Haye, never knocked down in his entire career, amateurs or pros, unlike Haye, has beaten better H2H fighters than Haye. He had no chance becauase Klitschko was better. Chagaev would walk easily through any opponents of Haye.
Hard to say. In the Macca fight, he was exceptionally fast with his hands, and had a good quick first step. In other fights he did not have that, but still he landed quite a good amount of surprise shots from outspeeding at least his opponents. It will be a good question if he is fast enough to overpace Klitschko or not.
I've never seen anything special in Haye. His hands move fast, but not as fast as a Chris Byrd at heavyweight, especially considering he rarely throws straight, preferring the wide looping punches. His power is overrated, because every shot is a haymaker, and the fight with Monte Barret was an incredibly sloppy brawl that Haye, the younger, in his prime fighter, had to come through difficulty to finish. I was far from impressed. Fragomeni and Mormeck both had no trouble hitting him, and Haye showed even in the Enzo fight his footwork is flat, fairly wooden and he is dependent on his A- handspeed. Frankly, in my analysis, I see nothing to believe Haye makes it 6 rounds, much less makes those 6 rounds competitive. Least Ruslan was iron-jawed.
Are you referring to his mouth? Cause its plenty fast and loud too. But its gonna be swollen after (whichever) Klitschko smacks on it!
Haye showed that he's quite fast and sharp with str8 punches thrown from a low position upstairs and that had Macca hurt. Maybe he'll get committed more on offense rather than on defense. He definitely can't fight Vitali like he did against Mormeck, look at what happened with Carlos Gomez.
