**How good is Bradley?

David do you think this is the end of the line for Witter?

And how do you see Bradley performing against top-five types?

 

This is based on only a handful of ShoBox fights, by the way. Three or four maybe?

With one exception, that's a damn good favorite fighters list btw. We have similar tastes.

 

I dont think that Bradley is all that good. I think that he had a great gameplan and everything he told the showtime people pre-fight happened in the fight. He told them that he wasnt going to do much in the early parts, he didnt. He told them that he would turn it up in the 5 or 6 rounds and he did. He said that he thought Witter would fade and he did. He thought that he would land that overhand right and he did.

I dont think that Witter would ever beat this kid, unless Witter can change his style, and at 34 that isnt going to happen.

Bradley is an example of a guy getting a shot at the right time vs the right person and he cashed it in. I dont see him holding on to the title for more then two fights.

 

I'd like to view the tape before assessing Bradley in any confidence, but from what I saw live, I'd say he's a solid, rather than spectacular champion. He seems to have no obvious weaknesses and does everything reasonably well. I can't see him being able to beat Hatton/Paulie/Torres, but then again he may well be the type who improves significantly once he BECOMES champion.

As for Witter, I was very disappointed. He can fight much better than that. I had Witter four point up after five rounds and yet I still scored the fight 114-113Bradley. Although Bradley deserved to win, I felt that Witter threw it away more than Bradley winning it. Maybe Witter is simply too old to fight 12 rounds? He faded badly after halfway and potshotted from then on. Credit to Bradley(or his corner) to start moving his head on the way in to get under Witter's punches.
