funny how frank forgot to mention it in his column on saturday and in all the air time he had at the york hall saturday night. must have slipped his memory.
At World level Thaxton would be described as C level(maybe C- ) , he's a very good domestic fighter though . Very determined , can be unorthodox(he likes to switch hit sometimes) is more than willing to take 4 punches to land 1 and has a very good dig . He works the body very well aswell . He has a good chance at beating Khan due to 3 things 1. his power , 2.a decent chin 3. he throws punches back while being hit . 3. is especially important as Khan can be very open while throwing quick combinations and although Thaxton is a bit crude he could definitely catch him . [YT]cqzUZ1OfGcY[/YT] There is a recent Thaxton fight , although note this is a very poor performance from him and if he fights like that he would lose to Khan .
:good I mean he gave hatton two things to worry about is head going in and giving him two horendous cuts above is eyes. He also never gave in.
I think C level is harsh. Thaxton is a fine fighter, slightly over the hill now but slots into the top 20-30 easily enough. I think he's B to B- class and a reasonable step up for Khan. More so than this Danish chap.
Yes. I just khan steps up because if he wants to recognised legimately as the best in britain he'll have to face thaxton.I wonder what his chin will be like if he gets caught because we saw what willie limmond did to him and he his a light puncher.
