Well said. Zaragoza suffered from not having much worldwide attention until the last few fights of his career, but he had good skills (especially in his counterpunching) and was a tough challenge for anyone fighting him.

And anyone who at age 40 gives a just turned 21 prime and hungry Erik Morales a tough 11 rounds is anything but mediocre. (Surprisingly, I just looked up the scorecards from before the fight was stopped and one judge actually had Zaragoza up a point. The other had Morales up by one and Morales up by three, not bad for an old man).

He was one of those fighters, like Manuel Medina, who never really possessed a whole lot of athletic talent, but was smart enough and tricky enough to give most everyone he fought absolute hell because it was difficult to catch him with a clean shot, and because he could smother you with a high-volume attack thrown from the southpaw stance.

And, given his credentials, and longevity (he just never really went away at any point in his career) I think he's certainly worthy of induction into the IBHOF.

Yeah i have only seen the 2nd bake fight, its great one of my favs

IMO he is underrated, he fought alot good fighters and hung around and still stayed competitive. I mean his last fight was against Morales, and it was no walkover.
