Hard to really say how good Ike would have been. We can speculate but he could have also been exposed to a certain style. Ike had some mental problems and I think like Tony Ayala and Mike Tyson they would have surfaced but I had an eye on him as a possible future champ but he failed to get to the Big test.
Yeah. 90%! And Chris is right. Those right hands caused Tua tremendous psychological trauma. Lewis had him scared for his life, so he chose to avoid a fight.
You are a complete wally. Your pseudo-psychology musings are risible, you know absolutely **** all. Let me guess, you were a fat child and lack any aptitude for sports but because you have joined a weights gym you now get what this is all about? Thats the level of reasoning you are putting forth. Stick to the humorous lounge threads because with your bias and ignorance its not even worth reading.
That was the Byrd fight I admit hes an easy target, hes not the sharpest tool and he is somewhat limited and doesnt come from a storied boxing neighbourhood like many other fighters. But there is a hugely ignorant bias against his capabilities in the ring, remember he is more Toney's size than Tyson, he is only 5'9 and lacks quite the same reach. Before he got fat he was a different fighter altogether, the fights with Ike and David Izon set consecutive records for punches thrown, he was a relentless and extremely well conditioned heavyweight under Lou Duva's guidance. Given how short his reach is and coming from a boxing wilderness without the experienced guys to learn from, I have huge respect for how at 5'9 he's basically the best HW to never win the belt.
David Tua would ***** slap his sorry ass "fans" that try to baby sit him saying that he can't look after himself and ****. He was so embarrassed that he shut down his website. Tua hates his "fans".
A quicker better conditioned Tua might not have been hit by that righthand that hurt him. Lewis was very good at making the opening statement against punchers. He did the same thing to Tyson. It kept guys in check, but I dont think a prime Tyson gets hit like he did either.
