So you can't even bring yourself to give Huck some respect for putting on a great, exciting performance when nobody gave him a chance in his first ever HW-fight against the much bigger and unbeaten amateur-sensation Sasha Povetkin? This is sad, really sad...
you have to give Huck props for heart and determination but as boxer, he's complete ****, mass of rabid punches, holding and hitting and generally fouling big - for Pov for coming into the fight in such **** conditioning, no wonder he's ducked Wlad, he'd be killed in a fight with the Champ
I managed to miss the fight after being pumped for it the whole day, but if Huck made it a very even, a very good fight despite being the smaller and less skilled man he deserves all the respect in the world. A massive pair of balls that Sandzaklija has.
Huck fought like he does all the time just not as aggressive but more aggressive than against Lebedev , a fight he got gifted by the judges. Big props to him tho and man does Povetkin have mediocre cardio , it looks like all his recent fights after the 3rd round he fights on heart with empty tank.
I give him credit for his gameness and determination... he gave Povetkin a very tough fight (although that was as much to do with the Russian's poor conditioning as anything). However, any objective boxing fan will realise Huck is technically a very limited boxer.
Nobody argued the converse. But the limited bar-brawler gave the technician all he could handle tonight (and yes, Sasha was in ****-poor shape, thanks to a mixture of Teddy's awful condition-coaching that will leave its mark way longer than a few months and Povetkin underestimating Hukic big time).
Yes. This. Huck's forearm was attached to the back of Povetkin's neck for half of the fight. I didn't score any of those blows, so, I came up with a 114-114 card which I felt Povetkin "did better" in. Yeah, ducking is weak, but is illegal? Or to what degree? You certainly see it to some extent in almost every fight out there, so I'd like to hear a more thorough response to those who felt Povetkin should have been deducted a point.
His punch resistance was as good as it was thought to be. His boxing ability was slow to start, but once he picked it up, he showed he has was it takes to compete at this level. Power was above average as he had Sasha hurt a couple times, and he also took some flush shots to the body and kept moving forward when he wanted to. He countered well as expected, and in many, if not most peoples opinions, he won that minor title tonight. I had him up a round in a fight I was trying hard to make a case for Potvetkin. :deal
It is illegal if you duck below your opponents waist-line, which was what Povetkin was doing the entire fight. So yes, obviously there should've been warnings and point-deductions.
Huck should have been deducted about 87 points for rabbit punches to the back of the head in fairness, literally the worst reffing I've ever seen in my life, shocking, fighters die in the ring for less than that.
It is not Huck's fault that Povetkin was (quoting another user from other thread) "trying to suck his own dick" the entire time.
I agree it was the refs fault, utterly **** performance. A disgrace to the sport. The man should be ashamed of himself.
