My Favourite fighter , in my eyes definition of a warrior is nigel benn ,vicious intent to destroy who was in the ring with him if he was hurt he became even more vicious and maybe a bit reckless but you always new what you was getting with benn, all action never say die attitude with sleg hammer hands. The mclellan fight is without a doubt one of the most incredible comebacks in boxing especially considering the level of opposition.I remember him doing an interview where he said if he got an early ko or come out with no injuries he was looking for a fight straight away when you look at his record he fought every month for the first part of his career and when the level of opposition got to world level he was fighting every 3-4-5 months he fought 5 months after the mclellan fight the man just loved to fight and he did. ps i think i just realised maybe i like him a bit more than i fought
had it no been for the poor refeering and the rabit shots benn was landing, g-man was on his way to beating him
What about the rabbit shots and head butts McClellan was landing. I love how people try to make out like it was one way traffic.:nono In terms of the boxing, it was pretty even, Benn won more rounds, but McClellan had the knockdowns.
Just making the comparion...if he had the problems you said, he should not have been fighting...tha's dangerous
animal. he would have cleaned out the MW division if he was around today. tayor, pavlik, abraham are all going home in body bags.
he was awesome, my 3rd favourite boxer of all time and i had the good fortune to see him live, against the g-man, great night but a huge shame the way it all ended with wot happened to the g-man.
absoloutely awesome who else could have beaten g-man at that time he was limited but wicked at what he did. he would have been destoryed by roy jones tho.
its true, the only one of them that would stand a good chance is taylor. benn simply fought at too high a pace and had too much movement for someone like pavlik to cope with, abraham went life and death with miranda who is similar but very much a poor man's version of benn.
