He lost almost all of his biggest fights.

Good enough to beat the current Mayweather.

I'd be interested in seeing a rematch with Trinidad, but the weights are too far apart. I doubt Tito can get below 160, and Oscar can't fight well there.

Hoya is an ATG based on how competitively he fought almost everyone, a who's who of great fighters. He had controversy and didn't win them all, but he was a tough opponent for everyone and won enough to justify his place among the greats.

He's obviously declined now, though, which is why the Mayweather bouts are of no interest.

Why can't Trinidad get below 160? He looked pudgy and flabby against Jones.

Trinidad can make 160, I always thought he was maxxed out at that weight, he is just to lazy to work off the fat.

He was a very good product with a very good matchmaker and promoter. His status as a great seems to outweigh his actual worth.

Just Re-watched Leonard vs. Hearns II "The War" on Vs. channel
for the first time in a long time and I must say that fight was pretty good.
granted they were past their ATG best, but obviously still had it that night.
Leonard was 33 and Hearns was only 30! (I think they are = to where both Felix and Oscar would be at this point in their career's due to type of fights & lifestyles differences from Hearns & Leonard)

I could see Oscar & Trinidad giving a better fight than their first one for the same reasons as the Leonard/Hearns rematch!
(Movement & speed will not be the same as before, More slugging.)
But Felix would defo have to fight @ 154 at the most for the fight to happen.
let's get his ass some slim fast...lol

Let's make Trinidad Vs. De La Hoya II happen.

The thing about DLH was his popularity it eclipses his greatness as a fighter as he came up short in most of his toughest fights at the elite level.

Lets just say in his prime Floyd would have been the underdog.
