How good was Vernon Forrest in his prime?

    He made Mosely kiss the sky, that was hellacious, don't know how he even finished that round.

    Vernon was a damn near complete fighter (minus the injuries, specifically that shoulder). I think some of these questions are because he wasn't a "dynamic" fighter, nothing much stood out, and most of his prime he was either hurt or under the radar also (the Mayorga hiccup didn't help)

    Very good, I'd say he fell short of great though.

    Beating Mosley was his coming out party, but then Mayorga gate crashed it and he never truly recovered.

    Became top dog at LMW, but exchanged wins with Mora then was tragically killed.

    He was very very good though.

    Very good fighter, would be amongst the current top guys.

    Funny, I remember Mosley quoted before the fight as saying that Forrest threw the "Whoooo!" punch, which was a big right hand that usually missed, but it would make the crowd go Whoooo!. LOL, guess Shane got to sample it.

    Better then Mosley but somehow worse then Mayorga?

    Yes, that's right. I saw him Kathy more than any of them. And Forrest could underwhelm, which did little to help his stock.
