in addition to being one of the most exciting fighters in an era not devoid of exciting fighters and an all out blood and guts warrior. one of my favorite fighters ever.

Great resume. Wins over Casamayor, Freitas, Castillo in consecutive fights. Back2back2back make him a hall of famer. One of the best boxing runs in recent memory.

He really didn't need to be as exciting as he was because he proved he could box in the casamayor fights. But that's not the fighter he truly was :smoke

What a loss for boxing, probably the first one that I was around for that I really took to heart. :|

The 130/135 divisions are underrated IMO because of the 126 lb division having Barrera, Pac, Naz, Morales all fighting there and stealing the spotlight.

Elite puncher. One of the heaviest punchers ever. Not very fast, limited skill, but his hooks were a thing of beauty and something to behold.

    Nicely put. :good

True. Helluva resume win or lose this guy faced all the elites in and around his division. Most if not all in or close to their primes.

you guys obviously dont know what great is. since when the **** can a hall of famer not be considered great ??? and yes he will be inducted into the hall of fame soon

to say he was just good is ****ing stupid wins over freitas, casamayor, and castillo means he is great

pretty good a real handful for any fighter with hurtful punches not the slickest guy or best mover and could probably be ouboxed by most great boxers but he will always get his shots in

I go along with the comments that he wasn't great. He was a very good fighter to watch but he was flawed in the ring.
