I have checked their rankings and Cook is not even ranked by them, so how can they justify this fight?

This should be a non-title fight, to call it anything else is fraud. No wonder noone in Scotland wants to see and they have exported this nonsence to England.

Cook beat Arthur 3 years ago and has only lost twice by vicious knockout at world class, and has spent the last year or so on Coke, can't think of a more deserving candidate if I'm honest. Let's go Burns.

How did Gavin Rees get a shot at M'Baye?

How did Hobson get a shot at Maccarinelli?

How did Manfredo get a shot at Calzaghe?

He entered their rankings this month at #11 after outpointing Al Hamidi (8-33-2) over 6 rounds - several weeks after Burns-Cook had already been announced.

What a tempting carrot to dangle in front of the BBC to get them to show boxing again!

Well who had burns beaten to deserve his shot? No one of any note bt he proved his worth on the night with a world class display.
I agree though, this fight is poor for a "world title".

Probably a rule about a former WBO champ being allowed to fight for the title should they choose.

Remember the magic trick when Giminez and Essett, no.1 and no.2, disappeared from the WBO 168 top-10 (at 1 and 2) in the space of a week to be replaced by Eubank and Watson (at 1 and 2), who had just fought for the WBO 160 title.
