Naz is up there for power...not particularly up there for greatness. Not top10 certainly...probably in the top20.
you have to know what styles beats that type of fighters style right? And Barrera knew that maintaining your range and keeping to the basics would **** up a guy who fought like hameds style of fight..... Hamed relies on awkward moves that he had mastered...ones that he relied upon. MAB made him aware that his style was nothing new in some ways....... good, but not the be all and end all as fgar as styles go....
Not as highly as he should have been. He turned his back on the game and left his career unfinished. Great talent, though.
If only he had reached his potential, He basically retired when he was 26,and even by then the hunger seeemed to be gone. Heard an interview with him recently where he said the reason he didnt come back was because he too many problems with his hands.
Dont know. Cant put a number on it. My understanding of the featherweight divisions history or any other for that matter isnt much. All I know is that he didnt fulfil his potential; thus affecting what he managed to achieve.
Afro Hamed as seen in my avatar (to the left)...would clearly be #1 Featherweight of All-Time, and also in the running for #1 All-Time Great.
I think he has a case for top10 or top15, he beat all the belt holders and was an amazing talent. Yes he lost to a great and has his flaws but so do plenty of top fighters He stopped a good few who had never been stopped/counted out Yet its ok to have Armstrong there who arguably didn't achieve as much
Plus Hamed was adept at dragging his opponents into his style of fight by psyching them out with his big mouth and pre-fight theatrics.MAB just scoffed at that and did exactly what you said he did:good(good job,by the way,Stormy:good).Discipline and knowing how to box go a long way, especially against a fighter with so many basic flaws as Hamed.Could you imagine if he had stepped into the ring with one of the guys he ducked-like JMM,Mayweather and Morales? He would have been embarrassed that many more times.
