The first round was close, and Manny Pacquiao didn't land anything significant. Don't say only fanboys scored the first round for Marquez, there is a legitimate reason for doing so. The only head snapping punch that was landed was by Marquez, and all the other so-called shots Pacquiao landed I couldn't see, only compubox could. I gave the round to Marquez, and if you want to confirm everything by telling us what the judges saw - one of the judges gave round 12 to Pacquiao. :patsch

What I've learned over time from ESB (and Marquez fanatics have contributed to this) is that most fans suck at scoring fights, and that in general, the judges do a much better job than fans can.

Unless people are complaining that there was corruption among the judges, that from the onset of the fight they had instructions to give Pacquiao the nod, which is really a pathetic excuse up there with Tarver's claim that he was poisoned against Hopkins, then the decision was a fair one.

    I'll have to disagree.

I think members scorecards here are on the average far more accurate than what the judges usually have for fights. Did you see the scorecard for Penalosa vs De Leon. Nobody here would have been stupid enough to give De Leon the nod by that big of a margin. That's just one example.

Any scorecard I have seen narrowly giving Marquez or Pacquiao the edge, are correct. People misunderstand me all of the time. I'm not crying robbery, but I am saying with conviction that I had Marquez winning the fight. Had I been the only one doing so then perhaps I could be called a nuthugger, but many people in Boxing had Marquez winning the fight. Brian Kenny did, Max Kellerman, Lennox Lewis, Larry Merchant, to name just a few.

To all members of ESB - If you don't want to discuss the decisions, or you're convinced that everybody who saw Marquez win is a "fanboy" then don't enter the thread.

Some JMM fans are worth discussing with, while some others are complete fanboys, incapable of uttering a single negative comment about JMM regardless the situation. Its not a crime to seperate these 2 types of JMM fans. In fact, it should be done to improve the discussion.

Once again, I rate JMM extremely highly, and I am a big JMM fan. I don't just watch his fights against Pac. I've watched at least 6 or 7 of his fights.

At the end of the day, there were two major polls on ESB following the Pac JMM rematch. 1 of them asked if the decision was a robbery. Over 250 people voted and over 75% of people said no. And in the other poll that asked what people thought was the outcome of the fight, over 350 people voted, and over 50% of people thought the fight was either a Pacquiao win or a draw.

And most importantly, the ringside judges, the ones who are really qualified to determine the outcome of a fight, gave Pac the win.

JMM is a great counter puncher but I rate him behind morales, barrera and PAC because of his resume... the only significant to JMM, he gave PAC trouble because of his style...

He gave Pacquiao trouble because he is the superior boxer.

I rate him behind all of those names up until this point, but in the event Marquez beats Casamayor and then gets his rematch with Pacquiao and wins - it'll be hard to rate him below Pacquiao.

I know it would be time consuming and a lot of people responding to this thread may be wouldn't want to do it, but we should each provide a brief summary of EACH round scored for either fighter. This way we will know who is talking out of their ass, and who has a legitimate argument. I will do one within the next day or so. For those who care, anyway.

what i'm saying was that knockdown/s are more definitive and easier to score than a round where nothing occur. i just gave round 1 as an example because this round was confirmed by ALL the three judges for pac. but yet, jmm fans are still arguing it for jmm because of just one shot in the whole 3 minutes.

let us go to round 3 where jmm is leading for the first 2 minutes and on the way to get this round and suddenly bam!!! he was knocdowned. now i wouldn't hear from any of the jmm fans arguing this round for jmm because that was a clear score even if some of them would say that jmm is winning the first 2 minutes.

You and DIVAC should always be the judges in every JMM's fights so that your boy is a winner in every decision fights. All you have to do is cast your decision even if you're not on the event yourselves and all they have to do is read your already prepared result and YES, your boy is the winner.:hat

I had pac II as a draw, so since Pac is the closest thing to a p4p #1 atm I put JMM in the top 5 at the very least.

To bad! Some people have eyes but they are blind! :D

One's thing for sure. If JMM's fight vs CASA becomes a close fight

and CASA wins by SD... you would not accept it for sure it's the

judges to be blamed... yes... that's for sure blind man:hey

Just a quick look at JMM's career. You agree that JMM never never never never really lost right?! :good

If Casamayor wins by Split decision, I would accept the decision just as I accept Pacquiao beat Marquez in their second fight. I think this is where the confusion begins. I am not here to completely disregard Pacquiao's victory, I am just calling the judges into question because I, and a lot of ringside observors, had the fight for Marquez. I consider Manny Pacquiao P4P #1 because of that acceptance that he won the fight, I just don't think Marquez's stock dropped because of the result, and neither do I believe his resume does him justice.

No, I do not agree that Juan Manuel Marquez has never really lost, because I didn't see the Norwood fight.
