Doesn't work like that Ottke never beat a fighter of note or an elite fighter, his resume is a joke he's undefeated but never fought anyone. He was never at any point of his career seen as the best boxer in the world. PBF on the other hand did beat many fighters of note and elite fighters he beat the second best fighter of the era easily in Pac and was seen as the best boxer in the world and the best of the era. You can't compare the 2. There is a tier for these undefeated boxers and Ottke belongs at the very bottom.

    Really?

As far as ability is concerned, I agree

But he has fought so many greats over multiple division ls for over 20 years and had multiple fights with the 3 great Mexican fighters of his era

If Pac never lost with his resume he would have case for being the GOAT but he didn't his loses are the reason why he's not. Loses matter you can't downplay them, losses are important when assessing greatness.

Roberto Duran had losses of every conceivable magnitude , upset loss to Estaban, pathetic loss to Leonard and Kirkland Lang, great loss to Hagler, blow out by Hearns. Close losses when he was old to Pazienza and Camacho . And Yet he's the greatest fighter still living. Best since Ray Robinson

That's true, but the record has to be weighed up by accounting for both wins and losses.

He's lost quite a few times, several times being stopped. He's one of the best boxers in history, still.

Don't get me wrong, Floyd as far as ability is MILES ahead of Pacquiao

    He's much, much better

Duran also has one of the best wins in boxing history over SRL. That helps elevate him and rightfully so.

Nah, just means they didn't fight everyone they should have done from a legacy standpoint.

Point is that people shouldn't read too much into those boxers' unbeaten records.

Ottke isn't an all time great.

Mayweather is but he's nowhere near top 10 all time.

Marciano is an all time great HW but not in the top 5.

I agree especially when it comes to a guy like Ottke whose resume is a joke. PBF on the other had while not a top 10 ATG is the best boxer of his era and at least a top 20 ATG.

Do you realize Ottke's resume is pretty close to Joe Calzaghe's resume at 168? You know, the token pale horse fighter you claim to be a fan of?

Boxing should be like MMA if it comes to the importance of being undefeated. All the padded records and built up fight for prospects are a joke. Some prospects have like 20 fights and fought nobody. It's a joke. But in the end an undefeated prospect is more profitable for promoters than a guy who is 17-4-0. boxing is all about money. So i get it....it still sucks!

Are you off your meds again?? Ottke's resume is trash. He's no where near as good as Calzaghe he was a joke. Calzaghe is a legit ATG, Ottke isn't.

Look at them Pimp. Go ahead and compare their 168 runs with an open mind. I know you can't do that ever, but give it shot for once.

    Absolutely not. Obviously.

A 23-0 club fighter who beat local Oklahomans with sub-.500 records is less accomplished than anyone who has beaten ranked contenders.

Two former champions that fought the same quality of opposition, the guy who went undefeated through the opposition did better than the guy who won some and lost some.
