Ok cheers lads, knowing me i would have gone in and gotten in a few good shots then do a Calzaghe strut and get dqed lol.
showboating is for people who dont have confidence in their ability to win the round IMO you know to make people think they are doing better really dont showboat
Nah i was supposed to quote the bit you mentioned about "refs dont like it" etc........EPIC FAIL :bart
atsch Why does it matter? Especially in the amateurs you're not there to showboat; have you even had a match yet?
Nope, only started boxing in febuary and im just asking cos i thought it be fun to do but looks like i cant without losing my 'undefeated record' lol
Nah i havent pal, i will find out the boy i fought that i mentioned before, maybe got his name wrong. There was a big baldy guy who boxed out of there for years, wasnt bad, a Heavy. Cheers
Last time i saw showboating in the Amatuers it was Craig McEwan. He had an Exhi up here after getting his Bronze at Comm's, might of been a fight canna remember. Boy was from Aberdeen ( good fighter too..Matheson ? ) he decided mid-round to throw combo's at the ref as he boxed his opponent :rofl
No offence pal but if i had forums and people with a lot of experience wishing to give advice when i boxed i wouldnt be talking pish about showboating etc These people are damn well helpful and they dont have to be, use it well :deal
Alright, I hate to break it to you; but the first time you have a fight you will be so utterly exhausted, anxious, and wound up that showboating will be the furthest thing from your mind. Your main thoughts will be ones like "why am I doing this?" and "oh God, I better block that punch".
