I must admit I hadn't seen much of usyk until the gassiev fight. I've watched his old fights now including the breidis fight.. The way he dominated gassiev I was blown away...he looked fantastic. Then against Bellew I must admit it lowered my opinion a bit, I wasnt THAT impressed....he was very good yes but not as good as I had him down for previously.
Maybe I was a bit harsh but even his victories are forever tarnished with awful scorecards and to answer your question guys like Usyk,Crawford are generally noted as PFP with the ease that they get through their opponents. Canelo doesn’t get the same level of hype or attention off folk re PFP is because he’s not on the same level, quite simple Shadow, were he on the same level he’d be treated as such.
Bellew is a crafty fighter and was dominated from the 4th round on and hurt multiple times before being put away brutally. That really lowered your opinion on Usyk?! Wow..
That was the victory that really surprised me,to be sure I had Usyk favourite for that fight but there were plenty who had Gassiev to win given his power and Usyk just shut him down like it was nothing. Bellew fight did go as I expected, thought Bellew would have his moments as he’s not a bad boxer so to win three or four rounds off Usyk was superbly done but ultimately Usyk as he often does makes it look easy.
Drugnelo boxed off the backfoot and... lost. Drugnelo came forward and... lost. Golovkn adapted to Drugnelo both times.
He’s got a point Shadow,I’ve only ever talked boxing with you with no hint of nastiness but he’s right in saying that whatever anyone says your opinions on Canelo and Oscar are so high that you’re always gonna disagree. Think you’re the only person on Earth that thinks Canelo v Floyd was competitive, only guy that could try and make a case for one judge scoring Floyd v Canelo a draw. Not having a go at you as that who you are and you not gonna change but I am pointing out what we dealing with.Kiwi man is one of the good guys on here, way too discerning and far too subjective for this place lol.
People don't like to hear that Canelo has fought and beaten the better fighters, and a whole lot more of them.
And got stung twice for it.I reckon you could beat Canelo by a twelve round shut out and only come away with a draw, reason being there doesn’t seem to be any process in place for overturning bad decisions or looking into the outright corruption.
Not sure of that but as someone whose always thought he beat Lara and beat Trout easy my beef has always been against the dodgy scorecards that seem to follow him round like flies on **** and imo this is what taints his victories as he’s good enough to win without em. I don’t include his last fight since all those cards were in keeping of a normal close fight.
Are you really that naïve ?? Floyd fought ib Vegas because he knew he wouldn't be allowed lo lose there. In reality ke should have had FOUR losses there Mauidana 1 Castillo 1 Ortiz by DQ Judah by DQ
The Ortiz one was incredible given the circumstances, sure Ortiz was out of order to begin with but after being broke up and dealt with he goes over to apologise and gets KOd for it and I’m not entirely sure if the Ref was even looking. Who else would of gotten away with that, using the excuse of protect yourself at all times? It’s a common thing for fighters to touch gloves and the like, can’t just knock someone out just because they committed a foul beforehand lol. If Ortiz hadn’t of fouled with his head and Mayweather pulled that stunt on him there’s no way that could of stood imo.
Ortiz didn’t try to touch gloves. He hugged Mayweather (for the second time) and stepped back after with his hands down during a live boxing match.
Yes that’s right, odd behaviour I know, just have a memory of the Ref not even seeing it. Put it this way we’ve seen BHop fights get DQd for far less.
I don’t know of a single DQ result for a fight involving Hopkins. I also can’t think of an instance where the ref tells them to fight and DQ’s one guy for hitting the other. Floyd caught a break against Judah (no fault of his own), not Ortiz.
