I wanted Khan to do well, but recent outings showed that he was going about things the wrong way and wasn't learning from mistakes, so it wasnt a major surprise when he got KTFO and the fact it happened so quickly on his PPV debut made it very amusing

I'm not a fan of Khan like I have been of Lewis or Calzaghe, ie I was gutted when McCall and Rahman knocked Lewis out. I was neither gutted or happy when Khan got knocked out, just thought it was funny.

Calzaghe? Up until about two or three years very few people outside of boxing would recognise Joe in the street. It's not that people loved Calzaghe, it's that they were only vaguely aware of him. He spent years making decent money on low-key title defences and the general public were largely oblivious to him. When he finally became famous it was in the twilight of his career. Aside from that he's quite a down-to-earth and self-effacing character.

Khan's problem was getting high-exposure so very early in his career and due to that and the moneymen courting him he began believing that he was better than he actually was and talked his talk accordingly. Many Brits don't like that, many more are jealous at his attaining wealth so young and without significant achievement in the pro ranks and others, as has been proven on here before, have an issue with his colour.

No the Scottish are....they debated this on talksport and most English didm't really care which is a shame. If Murray was crap he would be Scottish but cause he's half decent he becomes British lol....thats why he wanted England to get knocked out the footy.

But fair play to him....soz i know this is a boxing forum.

Its funny all this talk of Khan being arrogant - i dont like arrogant fighters like Mayweather or James Toney...they are obnoxious and repulsive to me. However I've only ever found Khan to be a nice honest likeable kid that just had self belief. Now he's gonna have to go back to the drawing board and really start learning defense. But he's still a young kid and still has talent. He could still get over this...maybe. Everyones written him off and I dont think its time for that just yet.

Not sure if he can make a comeback with his flaws and chin....but defo agree with you about arrogance....no way was he arrogant, just confident. Bottom line ppl were jealous of him.

He was someone who was ambitious and did talk about Hatton and Pacman, hell thats a 21yr old kid for you. But he never really badmouthed anyone, he always focused on his strenghs ie. 'i wanna/gonna be untouchable', how is that a bad thing?

Ppl here talk this **** to the next level, they need to get a grip. They fail to realise that Hatton was talking up a fight between them an all. But all that is a pipe dream now, a shame about his chin.

I kind of dislike Khan for reasons outside of boxing. Afew months back I was on the same flight as Khan heading out to vegas for the calzaghe fight. Him and his entire family got upgraded into the business class section from economy. The dude is a millionaire but flies economy. I even had my seat switched to acomodate it. The cabin crew then waited on him and his clan hand and foot like he was royalty. very embarrassing to see it happen..

Then you also factor in his penchant for reckless driving which has left one man dead..

Im a patriot but I was pleased he got sparked out.
just as i was pleased that clown andy murray lost.

I agree totally. He isn't arrogant. He's confident and he's ambitious. Probably naively so but as you say what's wrong with that? He showed every fighter he spoke about the respect they deserve and it's clear for all to see that he's a genuinely decent young guy.

Boxing is populated with a high proportion of lowlife scumbags that have been in and out of jail and done all sorts of **** but few have had the treatment that Khan's been getting. It's like pissing into the wind with some of the people on here who are unable or unwilling to separate confidence and ambition from arrogance.

Boxing is chock full of scumbags. James Toney repeatedly fails drug tests; Ike Ibeabuchi is a convicted ******, as is Mike Tyson as well as a part-time ear muncher; Riddick Bowe lost the plot and kidnapped his wife and children; Clifford Etienne is serving 150 years in jail for robbery, car-jacking and attempted murder but you hate Amir Khan for...

getting a free upgrade to business class.

    Get yourself to ****.

Unlike Fraudley Harrison Amir looked like he was really starting to look the ticket but it was not a great shock as he 's chin was starting to let him down in he's prev fights and i admit i was sucked in to the hype which wasnt hard considering the way he was despatching foe's . with this devasting loss he might have now been turned in to a scared fighter now is chin has been exposed which in turn could now give us some boring fights (think Wladimir Klit ) and one thing is for sure we wont be seeing the exsplosive khan pre Prescott oh well

Dissapointed i didnt have a bet for this one - did ok on backing khan for early knock outs early in his career and last couple fights bet against him but totally forgot this fight was on (stress of moving house)

I like khan in that he was kind of a good role model (especially for asian lads) and seemed to have a good work ethic but as soon as it became obvious he couldnt take a hit then it was just a matter of how long before he got taken out.

Didnt catch too much of the olympic boxing this time round but it seems the amateurs are quite far removed from the pro game - as in two entirely different sports in the way a top snooker player is not instantly the best 9 ball player.

As a Brit I am not bothered (though feel sorry for him) as I just want to see the best fighters in the world fight. Im more about animal desire to see men beat the crap outta each other than nationalistic pride.

I had hoped Khan would prove many wrong and become a world title holder. His natural talent is undeniable. But I knew he would get KO'ed at some point I had just hoped he'd have picked up a title before his weaknesses were exploited.

Khan is one of the most naturally gifted british boxers in years but has continually made poor decisions which left him very poorly prepared for what he faced last saturday. I must admit I laughed out loud when he was KO'ed because it gave me a sense of satisfaction seeing a fighter who clearly had not made the right choices as a professional boxer.

I will still support Khan and hope this reality check ensures he is able to make the right decisions and start taking advice from people who actually have experience in the sport and look to aim to be a great fighter rather than simply looking to become famous and make more money. Though just as I have had throughout Khan's short career, I doubt he will make those tough choices.

the flight thing was a minor annoyance.
I guess you missed the part about Khan crippling someone and being part of the prince naz school of reckless driving.
