    At Judo , not boxing.

In Football Wlad would have been handed a Red card and sent of the pitch. As early as round two , yet he continued his foul play right up to the final gonk.

He should have been heavily fined and banned from the sport. Like Mike Tyson was as that showing is up there with the ear biting incident.

It was a sloppy fight and he did push him a few times. But my point was that Alexander got beaten up badly.

Or are the lineal champs being treated as more unbeatable than they actually were?

    That's a stupid assumption.

He's beaten several top fighters in the world for years and the only guy that he lost to is considered one of the most dominant HW champs ever.

There is only 1 HW champ at a time. That doesn't make the other fighters not "world title level".

He would lose to every major champion from Liston onwards. Has good chances against earlier champions.

Rahman, Byrd and Donald were shot and Chagaev wasn't too far off either.

Yup, I think that he has improved since the loss (maybe Wlad did him a favour and lit a fire under his as s) and that he's still the best challenger available.

I think that particularly in the Takam bout he showed relentless aggression and that he mixed his punches up well to maximize their effect. His uppercut and liver shots were lethal, and he showed creativity in using them. Takam is a big dude, and to take out that sort of tough, high-workrate heavyweight you need a big punch - which Povetkin has proved that he has.

I reckon that he would do a job on pretty much every fighter that Mendoza listed in green and yellow, and I also think that he could give a tough night and maybe beat some of the red ones too. I think that if you swapped today's Povetkin for Golota in either of the two Bowe fights Rid**** loses by KO.

And many old timer historians are quick to discount modern fighters.

If Wlad retired 5 years ago, Povetkin's stats would be higher.

I think Povetkin would have been great in other era's.

    Magoo is correct.

Pick up the action at 4:07 at the below link:

The knockdowns were fine. As for Stopping the fight, that is up to Povetkin's corner or the ref. Povetkin takes a top level punch. He could have a 19" neck.
