Everybody hates Carl Froch I don't think he comes across that badly really. It's a bit annoying he talks so much when he's achieved so little, but hopefully his actions will speak louder than words next year He's not a bad guy
Firstly how do you know what he is like when he is of camera. Ask The Lads what he is like of camera, he will tell you he is a nice guy thats always humble that just gets on with his business. He is a good ambasador for the Sport becasue he has got to the level he is at by hard work. He has come from quite a poor background and through Sport and not crime has changed that. He has brought a whole new fanbase to boxing, especially young people, and aisan people. The more diversa the fan base the better, in terms of age and race.
Are you hoping to become his biographer? Speeding in cars, injuring people & not learning his lesson doesn't sound like a great ambassador to me. It's a good job he has the "g's" to get himself off lightly "innit", "ya know wot i mean?".
:rofl I even supported that little fecker Naz whenever he fought but Froch is a step too far I'm afraid!
Are you Jon Thaxton or Graham Earl?? Coming from Watford i thought you would realise half the population aged 15-25 talk like that. Some people speed, some people get drunk and gets into fights or shout at there girlfreinds or lie to there familys. everyone has bad sides and if haveing driving issues makes someone a bad person you must dislike alot of people. My polo certainly doesn't drift along at 30mph all day. You have a picture of Bernard Hopkins up there who correct me if im wrong at 21 was in prison????
he was convicted and sentenced to 18 years in the state penitentiary for "strong-arm robbery" (not armed robbery - beating people and taking their money). So Hopkins beat up old ladies and stole there jewlerry, and you have a photo of him. but khan cant go over the speed limit. and he is gonna get dicked on by Calzaghe.
Most of us I'm certain are guilty of wreckless driving at that age, just that we never got caught or end up in some serious disaster. Hes not perfect, after all a youth with money, fame and a fast car. He said that he learned his lesson. "People make mistakes. I am sorry for what happened." - Amir Khan http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/manchester/7180484.stm
No ones ever made Hopkins out to be the patron saint of boxing unlike Khan. Thats my issue here. I speed regularly but I'm not making myself out to be some kind of hero either. I hate the way these things escalate into hype trains. It's not enough just to have a talented boxer who fights, there has to be a whole "Khan thing". By the way, Hopkins close UD.
Stop with the back slapping. I'm at work so can only give this my minimum attention but I'll happily write Rob an essay as to why I don't like Khan. I've got plenty, but I'm mainly playing devils advocate here. Also, remember Hopkins has paid his dues unlike Khan.
Khan never intentially beat people up and stole from them. OK lets compare Dan B and Khan You both have bad driving habbits, but only one of you is a **** hot boxer thats raised millions for charity, so i wonder whos the hero. I look forward to reading your essay private message it to me and i shall reply.
dan-b Normally you Brits wait till you've built someone into a superstar before u knock them down again. What's going on here? :-D Give it a few years and i'm sure Rob'll be agreeing with you! Seriosuly, from some of the opinions on this guy you'd think is some sort of cocky larger-than-life, bad boy thug (The ex-chelsea manager-like)! I think some of this Khan stuff is a little over the top...A British thing i guess...
Khan has been great for boxing in britain. He's had a huge knock on effect and for that reason alone I want him to succeed. Also, in a couple of years time i can potentially see him as one of the greats
Like I said, mainly playing devils advocate but I wont renege on what I said about wanting to see him knocked out. I just take great exception to having fighters rammed down my throat. I'm a boxing fan regardless of what Frank Warren says I should be watching. Does anyone remember Haider Ali? Frank was trying to build him up as something special & he ended up getting pummelled & getting a gift decision. No need to make this personal Rob. I have not directed any personal abuse at you & the whole "well he's done more than you" argument is old & tiresome. I am not, however, one of these people who says something & is not prepared to offer rationale in an articulate manner. So I promise I will send you a PM outlining what I feel in due course but not tonight as I spend an inordinate amount of time in front of a computer during the day & need a rest.:good
I can't stand him and want to see him get knocked out cold by anyone. I consider him to have 1 loss already, KO against Limond. Willie was cheated. He's a red carpet rolled out hype job, and a big mouth and drives like the idiot he is. I'll be even more chuffed when he gets banjoed than I was when Fraudley got done.
