Do you know anything about human anatomy? lol

"There are many other muscles that are involved in the movement of the pull up. These assisting muscles include the Brachialis, Brachioradialis, Biceps Brachii, Teres Major, Deltoid muscle, Infraspinatus, Teres Minor, Rhomboids, Levator Scapulae, Trapezius Lower, Trapezius Middle, and Pectoralis Minor."

Like I said, it was the only picture I had of my back, so I posted it.
Don't talk unless you know what your talking about.

You need to read and comprehend my posts instead of typing random BS. I said not really because the picture has no relevance to, well, anything.

And no, I don't need a lesson in human physiology, thanks :good

I can do 7-8 now, but I don't really have the need. I just do sets of 5 or 6.

I'd like to try on a decent pullup bar because the one at the gym forces your arms to be wider than shoulder-width apart and it slopes away.

I mainly bumped this to show that no matter how much bull**** is floating about on ESB these days, threads like this show it was still rife a few years back.

Check the poll results, almost 40% of posters can do 20-40 strict form pullups.

Lol. 40% also full of ****. Go to a fitness forum and guys are happy to be able to do 10 straight pullups. Look at a boxing forum they can all do at least 20 easily

Exactly. I kept thinking this place was getting worse until I found that thread. This is probably an even bigger joke than the bench press threads in the Lounge.

I can do 30, that's not assumption that's fact. I'm pleased with that number really, my aim for now is to master the one hand variation (no support), hard ****.

Can anyone who says they can do over 25 provide a video of some kind? Three reasons; firstly because you have to understand that any fat slob can log on a forum and say this sort of thing without providing any evidence. Secondly, because it'll be pretty ****ing impressive. Thirdly, I've been waiting ****ing years for an video by El Puma and he still hasn't put one up, so I need some inspiration from elsewhere.

    Cheers.

Agreed. I'm 180 pounds, 6% bodyfat, been boxing, running, and lifting for over 10 years, and doing them correctly, I max out at 10. True, I haven't worked that hard upping my rep count, but the idea that there are dozens of guys on this forum who can do 25+ WIDE GRIP pullups is a bit far fetched.

I think the thread states that your arms have to be shoulder-width apart, palms facing away, and one rep is pulling yourself from a dead-hang position up to the bar. So even without the wide-grip part I'd be amazed to see 38% of the posters here do between 20-40 reps (7% of the votes are actually people who say they can do more than 40).

In fact, I'd be impressed to see someone do 25 chin-ups with good form, and they're quite a bit easier than pull-ups.
