This babble about the training film being an example of Harry Grebs ring prowess is a dimwits delight.
Im gonna post a kibitz one on one session between George Miken and prime Michael Jordan with Jordan letting Mikan dominate, swat away his shots and request if the nitwits wanna comment on Jodans really got no game?????

Ray Arcel saw lots O Greb and lots O Hagler. He picked Harry Greb BIG TIME over Hagler.

    DO THE MATH!

Doesn't Arcel also pick Jack Dempsey to KO everyone?

He and others, like Marty Cohen, Natie Liff, Chriss Dundee
were in a far better poz to choose than anybody here.

Ray Arcel talks up the late-teens and early 20s fighters to be the best. But the fact is Arcel was very very young in that period, around 20, and likely didn't have a good grasp of boxing at that age and all he has are memories of his youthful glory years. The human memory is not a particularly good source of evidence at best, many times in the justice system the wrong man has been convicted on the basis of witness reports mistaking the identy of a suspect

Based on seeing Dempsey brawl with a weight lifting champion from 100feet away years and years ago high off the euphoria of the crowd, yep great way to analyse fights :nut

No he didn't really, hes probably seen about as much of Dempsey as anyone on the forum, based on the fact he was a teenager when Dempsey won the title. So he won't have seen pre-Willard Dempsey and he likely won't have seen him up close given the size of the crowds, the majority simply could not get a good view of the action. He will have been caught up in the euphoria of the crowd like most fans who are usually way off the mark when they come back from the fights

Arcel like many of us is a fan of fighters of the era he developed into a man

Arcel famously saw Dempsey vs John Lester Johnson in 1916 so you broadcast your lack of boxing knowledge with every post.

I do think there's a difference in seeing a man fight in your 20's than seeing a man fight in your 80's.

I don't think 16 year old Arcel seeing a Dempsey fight, where he was reportedly beaten up pretty bad and had his ribs broken, necessarily disproves his point though.
