I like Hearn, just agreeing with the thread Buffer is no longer very good and was probably paid too much for a standing deal. If he wanted to go with a legend who can still get the jog done, then Jimmy Lennon Jr. was the way to go.
Id like to see Shannon Briggs take up a career as a ring announcer, hes got the charisma, energy, and catch phrase already down pat... "LETS GO CHAMPS!"
I used to think Buffer is so cool. But now, I prefer Jimmy Lennon, Jr. He has very unique clear voice. Very classy, smooth. And his build-up is definitely second to none. Very nice person too. I asked to have photo with him in Singapore when he was announcer for Chris John fight.
I remember many years ago in Ft Worth Texas Buffer welcomed everyone to a "Night of Professional Championship WRESTLING!!! LOL later on the broadcast he introduced Paulie Ayala as "NABF HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!! He was always a suntan & a good catch phrase. The two best I ever saw over the years were Jimmy Lennon jr & Mark Beiro Both talked to fighter to make sure name pronunciation & information was correct Both were PROFESSIONAL

Jimmy Lennon Jr is pretty awesome too. I think Shannon Briggs would bring a different aspect to the game. He would be more of an evening MC than a ring announcer.
He probably commands a fair amount though, I was watching the KSI-Logan Paul fight and one of the commentators said how he was "worth every penny", implying that they splashed out on him somewhat. I know it's a YT event and the budget is probably not to the same level but still, it's an interesting tidbit.
73 years old who had throat cancer and still on another level than these sissies. Lennon Jr. is a classy man and a solid pro but has a girly voice. Diamante has a good voice but is badly receded. I've heard several times from people that his laptop should be investigated.
