I'm sure wlad does MANY reps between 250 and 280lbs. no need to bench more than that in boxing, does you no good.
Klitschkos are very strong, but their condition if for boxing/stamina. They are the best heavyweights in boxing history.
Why is this assinine thread still here? It's a dumb question to begin with. This is boxing, not powerlifting. If benching was of any relevance, guys like Tua, Briggs and Golota would dominate. The Klits just don't appear to have a body structure to bench all that much.
You forgot Louis Monaco and Hasim Rahman. Monaco claims to be the strongest boxer in the world benching close to 600. Rahman reportedly benches 5?? something.
i remember reading an article before where klitscko was saying he doesnt lift weights much at all, he concentrates on calisthenics.
My final set is 200lbs by 8 reps. And I'm 140lbs. Looking at Chef's picture, doesnt seem that crazy he can do 225lbs by 18 reps, he looks way over 200lbs himself. Although I have never tried repping over 12. I usually do pyramid of 12-8.
I would be curious as to what the Klits can bench. While working with Hasim Rahman I personally saw him bench 545 for 3 reps.
When I was preparing Kermit for his fight with Teddy Reid Kermit posted some very impressive numbers in the gym. 245 lb bench for 3 sets of 5 reps. Squatted 345 for 3 sets of 5. Dumbbell shoulder press with 90lb dumbbells for 3 sets of 5 reps. Weighted chin ups with 90lb dumbbell around his waist for 3 sets of 5 reps. That was at a body weight if 164lbs.
