    :lol

I love this line. Have any of you lot been in a gym before. As if to imply you know something we don't.

A 140 pound man shrugging 528 pounds is impressive. Period.

Hatton does 19 plates on the leg press. It's on youtube. Doesn't do full motion though.

I agree a 140lbs man shrugging 528lbs is very, very impressive. But seeing as Hatton wasn't actually doing a shrug I don't see this as impressive.

No, the fact that most can't tell what a 20kg plate looks like is quite amazing to me and the fact that you think shrugging 6plates a side is impressive indicates you've never hit the weights.

19 Per Side or 19 in total? I did 13 a side when I was 19 (27 now), I was around 160-180 at that age, but if I was ripped I'd be less.

Leg Press is another ego lift, guys can do 12plates per side and only squat 180kg, which is good but not great

True measure of strength = Squat/Bench/Deadlift/Power Clean/Overhead Press. Notice they don't show footage of him doing these exercise because he only benches around 90kg. I didn't bother with ego lifts like Leg Press or Shrugs after my teenage years.

Ricky Hatton probably doesn't deadlift much over 140-160, which is decent but again not amazing

    Leg press serves it's purpose.
    Concentric.

It's because there are so many plates, I was sceptacle of whether they were 20kg.

Ok PowerPuncher, I've never hit the weights :patsch

    You guys crack me up.

Hatton is a 10 stone man and not a power lifter. He is doing these numbers after a boxing workout. Kayes says if Hatton didn't want to box, he could make him a top power lifter.

Hatton does his weights in a seperate workout from what I've read.

If Kayes did say he could make Hatton into a top powerlifter hes way off and Kayes doesn't have powerlifting expertise anyway.

I'm sure Ricky would put up some reasonable numbers but top powerlifters lift insane numbers, even 140lb 1s (and Hatton would compete at 150, no day before weigh ins).

The lift isn't shabby but Ricky just isn't that powerful. If he was he'd be a bigger more explosive puncher

The biggest powerwise around Hattons weight is Shane Mosley who probably outlifts Hatton by 50% going by reports - although we haven't seen these for sure. Kostya Tyszus lifts put Hattons to shame too.

Having said all this Ricky is a great overall package of stamina and strength and stands a shot at beating PBF

I believe Kerry and I think you are taking away credit.

Rickys strength had nothing to do with his power. Two different things. Ricky punches wrong when he fights. He is a mauling, brawling, marauding type fighter. Cuffing shots, short shots, some wild shots. Ricky isn't planting his feet, turn his hips into the shots, turning his punches over etc When he does sit down on his punches you get Castillo.

What are Shanes and Tszyus lifts, put them down.

My favourite story about Tszyu is that he can do plyometric press-ups so well that he can get from press-up position to standing position in one push. Probably bull****, but a cool myth nonetheless.
