Flamazide, wondering what's your source for this? I haven't seen any media estimates like this yet. Just uneducated nonsense like just about every post in this thread.
I read this online from a few places before and I heard it mentioned in some video. Ugh and now I can't find it. Maybe it was taken down because it was a bad source and they wanted to remove it so no one would get misinformation and I came across it before it was taken down? That's the only thing I can come up with it since I can't find ANY trace of this now. From what we know though Canelo-Smith did 300k, Canelo-Khan did 460k, Golovkin-Lemieux did 150k, Golovkin-Brook did 843k viewers on HBO but it was free there. It is also supposed to be the biggest possible fight in boxing right now with nothing even being close. Assuming that it would do twice as many as the highest numbers from this set isn't that absurd. When I find a link of this again though I'll be sure to message you about it.
No way on Earth this PPV breaks 1 million buys. It won't happen. Canelo is a draw, Golovkin just isn't, he has outspoken overzealous fans but that's it. No one clamors to see him. Think about Canelo vs. Cotto, Cotto is huge, arguably as big as Canelo. They couldn't break 1 million together, but Canelo will with Golovin? 600,000 buys, tops.
