How much of a legacy boost would Wlad get if he beats Joshua?

" Just a big guy who had to create his own rules to beat ordinary smaller guys.
Thankfully boxing history isn't filled with too many Wladimir Klitschko's. - Dino "

What rules did Wlad create? None! Dino's wrong as usual.

Who are the ordinary smaller guys he eludes to? Haye, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Povetkin? Hardly ordinary.

And history shows Wlad beat plenty of big guys 230 pounds or larger that were ranked men by Ring Magazine.

History has few men Wlad size with pound for pound skills, that stayed on top for ten years and made 18+ title defenses. You only need 1 hand to count them.

We need a reality check here.

If Joshua falls under a bus tomorrow, we will see him as a fascinating what if, but a weak belt holder based on how far he actually got.

This would depend entirely on what what Joshua does next!

yeh like he didnt try and manipulate the ring with fury or get his ref to ignore his 119 clinches with Pov.

You actually know these and you decided to lie about them. why?

you've just listed his four best opponents, and its far from a stellar list even then. What an utter fool you look now.

get it in your head that Wach is shyte.

and now you add something entirely irrelevant. we are not discussing longevity.

So I'll ask you again, whats the problem with Dinos post?

He shouldn't need to fall under a bus.

And, no, it doesn't depend on what Joshua does next. ie. AFTER Wlad beats him (in this hypothetical).
If at 34 professional fights he's proven a great fighter that doesn't change what he was at 17-0.

Let's be honest we would rather see Wlad and Joshua than Wlad and Fury....

    I wouldn’t.

I want to see two lineal champions fight again.

Wins appreciate and depreciate after they happen.

For example Joe Calzaghe's win over Bernard Hopkins has appreciated, and his win over Jeff Lacey has depreciated.

Joshua could be a good candidate for either to happen!

Yeah. I was really looking forward to the rematch settling things.

Now we're left with what happened in the first fight...

That's not the way I rate wins.
I tend to view the fighters on what they've done recently AND on how they appear on the night, where they are at that moment. I don't think how they will look in 5 years time is relevant.

If Calzaghe's 'win' against Hopkins is viewed more favourably now it might be because people forget what a horrible fight it was.

    This.

The first fight was horrible, and yes, Fury won, but it was hardly a conclusive victory. Somehow I get the feeling that if it was a 15 rounder Fury may have gotten creamed in the last 3 rounds.

I wanted either Fury to put a fullstop on Wlad's career by outslicking him again or Wlad to stop Fury and to show that it was a fluke after all.

Wlad / Joshua is definitely a better fight though, to watch.

I think the win looks good because Hopkins accomplished a few things after Calzaghe beat him. Hopkins had issues with speed.

If he were to get banged out early ,you would be the first to say,"well he was an old man".

Hopkins was the lineal light-heavyweight champion of the world, Calzaghe was moving up to challenge him.
Hopkins had dominated Tarver to take the title.
It was a 'big win' at the time, if you ignore the uglyness and the disputed aspect.
