Seemed like he was doing fairly well until he let his weight problems get the better of him.. Defeated a string of fair to decent opponents.. Looked pretty good in the ring for a while... What do you think?

Titles are won the gym, but he is one of many talents that do not have drive to be champion.

Johnson was a good boxer, but he never had the legs or mental fortitude to be a dominate heavyweight. His performance against Ruiz was pretty poor. He got rattled really easy by Ruiz's BS and fell apart. Going into that fight he was so cocky he would defeat Ruiz and got a big surprise on fight night.

    GRADE C = Fringe Contender/Journeyman-Gatekeeper level talent.

no question and not comparing their talent (golota had light years more like you said) but their respective waste of it

Good Potential, but not on the level of a Dokes/Page potential.

enough to annoy you and let you down, when the HWs are always waiting for another star or possibilty, Johnson was there... and then he just wasn't and everybody knew HE blew it.

he did it to himself and of course HW boxing, still annoyed about him, could have been much more!
