You are aware paul threw 1200 punches right.... You act like you can be the sam fighter is tossing 1200 punches at you and coming forward.... You will see when winky fights someone else that he's not as washed up as you think he is

Just curious but who does Winky beat that's relevant at 160?

Cause and effect, right? There's two sides to that. If Winky was doing anything more than willingly let Williams treat him like a piñata there wouldn't have been no 1200 punches.

Winky was stumbling around looking HIV positive way too much of the time, WWM. No way around it.

    Hmmm...more competitive in what way?

I think he'd look the same against Pavlik who continues to come forward just as much as Paul does...but hits a lot harder. In fact Pavlik's accumulative power would probably stop Winky. Paul hit with a lot of flush punches.

Against Abraham? Probably. Problem is it's not competitive because he's better. Competitive because both fighters fight nearly identical.

I also feel the need to state that if Winky thought he could be competitive against Abraham, he would've taken the fight when it was presented to him and not turned it down.

Don't freak out, WWM. I'm really enjoying how troll-free this thread has been and we shouldn't throw chum in the water. :)patsch Geez... how's that for a mixed metaphor?)

I saw the swing rounds as the 1st, 4th, 9th and 10th. I gave Winky the 5th without reservation, but the swing rounds were the only ones I even considered for him. Does my reading seem really off-base to anyone?

what is winky supposed to do to get away from 1200 punches.. your giving him more credit than what winky is capable of

he is stationary and moves in str8 lines.... were not talking about a guy who bounces all over the place.... as opposed to paul williams who is bouncey and comes from angles and is all over the place....

winky & paul are not a good matchup..... i dont know why it has to be a matter of winky being washed up instead of it being a case of winky just not being a good matchup for pw

I gave Wink the 1st and the 5th. I also gave him the sixth because I missed it (I took too long making a sandwich) and scored it a tie.

It was a good win for Paul Williams...anything from 60-80% is a fair grade for it.

maybe pavlik stops winky but if winky starts rolling i wouldnt be surprised if winky pulls it out.... winky showed to me last night that he is still a very capable counter puncher and we saw vs bhop that pavlik is capable of being counter punched... if winky starts getting off it would probably go the distance and be a tight fight.... paul hit him flush alot becuase paul threw 1200... pavlik dont punch as much and his punches dont come from as wild angles as pw.... so they would be easier blocked in my eyes....

to be honest im not to keen on how aa fights but i really really believe that winky can still compete on the highest level... but pw was just BAD MATCHUP...

im not freaking out but im just frustrated because i feel like im getting attacked for saying winky had 80% and for sayign winky is still a legit threat at 154-160..... he looked great to me ..... i mean how bad could winky have been if manny stewart said he was as good in the fight with paul as he was n the fight with jermain taylor....the matchup just ****ing sucked for winky... absolutely sucked

I don't remember that round clearly, either - was reheating the afternoon's leftovers and it seemed that every time I looked down at the pan were the only times significant punches landed. My notes say that, once again, Williams took the jab away and won all the Winky-finds-range-and-finally-opens-up exchanges decisively and staggered Winky.

Probably explains why a puffy Winky was sleepwalking for the first half of the 7th. :bbb I think distance control was the most deciding factor the whole night.

That's right, it was never a good style matchup - but we knew this ahead of time. I referred to movement and Winky's trouble with Sam Soliman and Bernard Hopkins myself before it took place. Don't miss the point; Winky might have won that fight anyway. HE COULDN'T PULL THE TRIGGER, WWM.

I'll score it again tonight. I have no doubt that Williams clearly won, but you are not alone in believing Winky may have nabbed more of the first half than the HBO commentators and majority of fans have made it seem. I score SCORING punches, and Harold Lederman does not - but that piece of **** is always in on the HBO agenda, so he's hardly mention worthy. My fault.

These people score arms moving, and they don't score body punches. Same ****ing thing every time.

How many punches did Pavlik throw against Hopkins? How many punches did Margarito throw at Mosley?

.....Those guys usually throw 1000 punches a fight, right?
