The fact that the thread starter mentioned Margarito in his initial post might be the reason why the thread turned to a Margarito handwrap discussion.....

Honestly, I feel the thread as been somewhat educational.

How do you feel about it Garfied?

Do you think a moist small knucklepad inside of an otherwise legally wrapped hand, would be of serious danger to an opponent?

What about a hard knucklepad inside an otherwise legal wrap placed right on top the knuckles?

Would'nt you think that plaster in order to be dangerous would have to be applied to the outside of the handwrap and not at the very inside?

Help us out JG, we would appreciate your input.

Being that you are a former trainer of champion boxers and all, could you please elaborate instead of merely playing semantics?

Hey John Garfield, and speaking of cocky young Indians, tell us again about that young buck that intimidated everyone at your gym until you put him in with someone that could really put him in his place. Did ya really never hear from him again? I bet you were really sad?

well first of all margarito didnt do ****...his trainer did

and 2nd of all, many have raised many good arguments about what was found...if it really cures fungus and infections, then it makes perfect sense why capetillo would put it in there....

of course there's a huge chance that capetillo really did try to cheat, but we gotta take it a step further into how much damage they can even cause...and as of now, it's ZERO....plaster would crumble on impact, and if it was really brick hard and wouldn't crumble, then it would obviously hurt the fighter wearing them more.......

    its simple:

if you walk into the dressing room and your trainer has two knuckle pads already set to go and the inserts with in them are firm but bendable considering how much gauze is needed to make those knuckle pads its highley possible that a fighter wouldnt know...
Normally when a fighter is getting his hands wrapped his mind is on the fight, and if you look at that gif that is floating around here in which is shows the size of those inserts they are about as thick as a stick of chewing gum.... and with that much gauze around it I am not surprised that he had no idea.

So if said experienced boxing trainer did try to cheat, then he did it in a way that would have no benefit, else in a way that would hinder his own fighter?

Does that sound particularly likely to you?

    doesn't make sense, right ?...
which is why what others have said shedded a new light on all this....maybe capetillo was trying to protect margos hands........****, floyd injects himself and manny wears plastic over his thumbs, so if that was the case then why cant capetillo look out for margos hands ??????

    a lot of "ifs" here

I couldn't be clearer, m. If it ain't legal (no matter what amount), it shouldn't be in a glove. Get caught 'n suffer the consequences. If ya can't do the time, don't do the crime.

For a minute, m, wasn't sure who you were referring to. Then I remembered the mean-looking Apache with the tear-drop tattoo under his eye. Never saw or heard of him again after losing the Golden Gloves bout.

If you needed to collect a debt, hedda been a great guy to show up with -- scary lookin' dude.
