An thats the whole point. You think a trainer is there to really teach you at that level? What more can a Freddie or Rodger teach you at that point? they can get you to work in the gym. its more of a bond than teaching you. Motivating you. Telling you to stop when the time is right is what a real trainer is. They are their to bust your balls. If they knew every solution they would be gettin more than 10 percent
Actually, modern conditioning science practically IS rocket science. Please don't dismiss something that you know nothing about. However, there is little if any emphasis in the University studies on boxers, per se. While some techniques will translate, others will not, due to the unique nature of boxing's physical requirements. Thus, a great boxing conditioning coach is going to have to be very intelligent, and able to adapt / modify what he's learned at school. Anyway, your basic point is solid: Aziza is evidently NOT some top, acredited physiologist. I think he's just some guy that read a couple of books, so he can pretend to be more than just a drug pusher. Do a Google search for "Alex Aziza's credentials." Good luck finding any. If he actually had a degree, it would be listed online, somewhere. If someone can prove me wrong, I'd certainly be interested, but I'm not holding my breath. Also, I just happen to ACTUALLY have a masters in Exercise Physiology, and I can tell you with certainty that some of what Aziza did with Pac was both foolish and dangerous, such as switching to a high-protein diet. Alex doesn't even understand how much protein the body needs, or that the body re-uses much of the broken-down amino acids already in the system. He also doesn't seem to understand the cellular respiration cycle of type-1 muscle cells. (leg cramps, anyone?) Well, how could he know these things if he only read a couple of books? ------- Aziza, Roach, Pac... that whole gym is full of pretenders. It's no wonder Pac became the hype-job he is: Hype jobs are what the Wild Card Gym is all about.
I dont dismiss your knowledge an college experience. I really dont. But as far as "science" A nutrient is a nutrient. An what so many people are flawed about today is so many gimmicks. At the end of the day macro nutrients are just that basic nutrients. Proteins, fats, carbs, sodium. Im not a pro. But people should learn not to trust stupid gurus. People that are out for a dollar. They need to learn the basics an stand up for themselves. The suppose gurus. ARE drug suppliers. They are there to supply drugs under the name "conditioner or "nutrition guru" dont argue with me on this
