There's no necessary limit to the ideal size for a heavyweight. Carnera was 6'6 260 but had no athleticism, modern super-heavies do. Valuev is Carnera's modern equivalent and he was 7 foot, 330. One day we will see 7+ foot fighters, 300+ pounds with elite athleticism, skill and co-ordination. But right now Fury has the ideal proportions.

Weight and skill also matters, Povetkin did well in the division, Chisora and Rivas also have shown glimpses of World Level skill. Height matters but only to an extent. A 6'3 220lb or even a 6'2 210lb fighter can perferm well in the heavyweight division if they have the skill and style to provide it

So Fury because he's a bit taller would blow away Ali, Lewis, and Louis? If I choose a 6'9" bloke from the populace at random would you bet on him to be champ?

Lewis finally figured out being taller = better? It only took 100 years or so of Queensbury rules.
Bit weird then that Tyson at under 6' preceded Lewis as the dominant heavy.
Or that someone barely 6' was unified heavyweight champ less than 18 months ago.
