^ i disagree with this. i know he's a ***** and all , but to say that his skills is not that great and his technically not that good, makes me go :patsch:-:)think

IMO he's one of the most technically sound fighter we've seen for a very long time... ( and this comes from a pacfan )

PBF has never tested himself in order to be called an ATG. That is his biggest problem in the eyes of the fans. Fighting Baldomir at 147 wasn't exactly the difficult path. Look at who Duran or Sweet Pea fought in comparison.

Top 5 dead or Alive Point Blank Period. Answer me this (1) if JMM and PAC took 24 rounds to come up with a 1 point Split decision if you really believe PAC won that second fight. How does PAC beat Money May if everything JMM does well Money May does 5 times better and has a age and Physical Advantage over JMM. :deal :think Think about that

This thread is about his skills but are you saying that the late Chico Corrales or fighting Genaro Hernadez in his 18th fight was nothing to marvel at??

It's funny how people bring up the Baldomir fight. Baldomir was the linear champion at the time ok. Wasn't Baldomir the SAME guy Brian KENNY from ESPN criticized Floyd in NOT fighting when he fought ZAB?? But then he fights Baldomir and now it's a problem?? Get out of here.

Back to his skills, he's argubly one of the most talented skill and conditioning wise there ever was. His weight doesn't balloon between fights or even WEIGHT-INs like MOST fighters which speaks to his tremendous conditioning. I don't think I've ever seen anything more than a 5lb differential between weigh in and fight day with Floyd. In fact, there have been times his weight has been DOWN from the weigh in. WHO CAN SAY THAT???

He is very talented. Caught 24/7 finally last night. Floyd looks extremely fast, and JMM looks faster than I've ever seen him. I think this fight is going to come down to endurance, and that might favor JMM. PBF is 140 lbs of pure fast twitch muscle. Great for explosiveness and speed, but bad for endurance. The key to beating him is getting him in a fight and getting him to fight. Basically, get him to use up his immediate energy reserves early. IF JMM can force PBF to fight hard early, and can survive trading punches with him, PBF will tire rapidly after the 4th round and then it's time for what I call classic Mexican boxing. Turn it into a forehead to forehead in your face inside ugly fight where JMM throws body punch after body punch with the occasional hook and uppercut. This has to be a sustained attack where PBF doesn't have room or space to operate. Like I said, classic Mexican boxing.

JMM also needs to avoid leaning into PBF because Floyd has beaten many Mexican fighters by basically stepping back and hooking as their momentum and gravity bring the forward. It's almost like you have to stand your ground solidly without leaning in. Keep your weight on your heels unless you have him in a corner with nowhere to back up. Otherwise, you get Ricky Hatton like results.

Very Very talented , Is he top 10 ATG at the moment NO not even close , Does he have the tools and heart to break into that list ummm if he go's after the right fights and by that take on the best there is at whatever weight he happens to be fighting at for each fight and wins well and by showing heart then yeah i think we can realisticly argue his case to be included in the top 10 perhaps top 20 ATG , His never gunna break into the top 5 thow just isent going to happen

To Floyd credit he beat both Baldomir and Judah ... two consecutive liner champions at WW.
The only critique to Floyd is he should shut off Margarito instead running form him.

He is good and what I like about him is that he has good technique and didnt go for the unorthodox style just because he has natural speed. Those types tend to have less longevity once their reaction times slow down due to age but PBF always keeps his hands up and has excellent technique.

He is up there with the other ATG's in his divisions though I dont believe he would have been undefeated if he was just a few years older and fighting in the 147 division with DLH, Tito, Forrest, Mosley, Whitaker ect. He would do well but probably have atleast 1 or more losses. I would like to see him take riskier fights and not be afraid of loosing that 0.
