I hope JMM22 watches these videos, especially that 2nd round, and realises that Cotto's chin is far from glass. He took some brutal shots in that 2nd round but just stayed there, bar the knockdown which was a clear push.

That's exactly what I'm saying too, Cotto can be hurt but that doesn't mean it's all over there, he can fight defensive when hurt and knows how to react and also fake it at times or use it to bait his opponent. Some of those shots Torres landed would've knocked others out cold, Torres has 1 punch KO power and Cott hate some bombs in combinations and stayed there.

Cotto's chin isn't perfect, but it's good. It may be possible that when he goes down, he's just doing the smart thing and allowing himself to go down before taking more punishment... just a thought
Too many fighters focus too much on not going down when hurt and end up losing because of it

:good i really doubt that margarito got the power to KO cotto before round 5,as he said he will!
i think it will turn out to be a WAR...and maybe one of the best fights this year.
IMO cotto will win this one...but it´s really a tough one,i hate to pick a winner on this one!!:think

Margarito doesn't have one punch KO power, he needs to land and land a lot to finally start to gain Cotto's attention, one clean shot won't do it. This is going to be an entertaining fight, I'm picking Cotto by comfortable UD, watch for Cotto to box at times and exchange as well.

I'm pretty sure Margarito has been stripped, Not sure?... (For taking this fight Vs. Cotto)
Andre Berto is the WBC Champion.

Margarito was stripped I believe for not facing his mandatory. Clottey vs Judah is for the vacant IBF belt.

On Cotto's chin, it's not great be any means but it's far from glass, he can be stunned and hurt but the guy has great survival skills, once somebody stuns him they find it extremely difficult to actually put him down.

Good recovery by Cotto. Lesser boxers wouldn't have survived that onslaught.

margarito better wear balls protector at fight night because if he ever stuns cotto and have him in danger of getting KOed, that right hand of cotto might just find a way to land on margarito's crotch.

One of the reasons that Torres was really able to open up on Cotto multiple times is because of Cotto's tendency to freeze for a millisecond, or more, when he gets hit with something solid. This state preceeds the actual rockage state.

Torres' tendency to pounce, as well as Judah's as exhibited in the 7th round of his fight with Cotto, reveals this other level of damaged state Cotto can go into when he's been "hurt." It's not quite as noticable or significant as Cotto getting fully rocked.

This has happened on many more occasions throughout Cotto's career. Obviously during Mosley (3rd round), Quintana (1st round), Malignaggi (9th round), and some other fights as well, but we won't get into all of those. At least, not nearly as much as we do now.

A very slight 'buzz' we can call it. The problem with the buzz though is that Cotto goes still in his tracks when it happens. That's why it looks like Cotto should be pulling the ejector rip when he's still standing there letting Torres/whoever come back with the really heavy artillery. The stuff that starts Cotto's legs-a-bucklin' and all that ****.

For me that's exhibit 462 in the case versus Margarito. Cotto doesn't just get hurt - it's a two tiered system of pre-buzz, and then rocked. That's extremely dangerous against a Margarito type IMO. Getting the buzz from Cotto is much easier than some rockage. Dangerously easy.

Again though, fully hurting Cotto is harder, and putting him down is very, very hard. If Cotto gets past Margarito without going down I doubt we'll ever hear about his chin business again. At least, not as much as we do now.

It will be an interesting fight no doubt but I wonder if there is any way Cotto can address this in preparation of the fight other than taking one on the chin during the fight.

That loss to Cotto did more for Torres' career than any other of his previous fights. So what are you talking about "boxing tragedy"
