Margo can't hurt Cotto, You will see that July 26th =d Exactly; In round 5 (though I hate to admit it) Torres ripped Cotto with multiple Upper-Cuts and Hooks (around 2 minutes left in the round)
Where, on internet message boards? The fight was his to win. Against Holt just this last week Torres was fully in the drivers seat in a fight that was his to win. Torres lost the two biggest fights of his career, on HBO and Showtime respectively, and they were fights he easily could have, or should have, won hands down. The difference between winning and losing these fights? Hello? HUGE. Life changing money, stardom, groupies, fast cars, Ricardo Torres Promotions, ect.
I've heard some ppl talking **** about the low blows in the 3rd round, but if you think about it, if any fighter is gonna throw a low blow to save their ass, it would be while they're hurt, not the round after they were hurt and already recovered..With Judah he was momentarily stunned, but not hurt like in his fight with Torres, he had no reason to throw a low blow to save his ass at the moment it happened..imo, he throws a lot of body punches and that can always put a fighter in danger of landing unintentional low blows
Agree wholeheartedly m8. I'm getting pretty tired of people saying that cotto's "chin" is week. First of all it is not a chin that is suspect it is the entire jaw. Secondly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with cotto'c ability to take a punch. This fight proved it. Any fighter can be hurt by a flush shot, whith some special exceptions (Jim Jeffries, Joe Grimm, Jake Lamotta, Rocky Marciano, George Chuvalo Tex Cobb and Battling Nelson), But they are few and far between. Torres hits like a pissed of donkey and he landed some huge flush shots on cotto in that second round, and the only time cotto went down was when torres leant on him and swung him around. And so what corley rocked him. That was another flush shot that he didn't see coming, but he regained his composure and stopped him in 5. Cotto has proven that it would take quite some punishment to make him even think of quitting. Punishment that I don't see coming from anyone in the WW division bar AM. That is why I respect him so much for taking this fight. :happy Quit trying to minimise the man because a few shaky MOMENTS in an otherwise unblemished carreer. :fire
Margo is an excellent finisher. He remains calm and composed when he has his opponent hurt. That is why, should he hurt cotto as torres did, it could be the end of the fight. Im just hoping that cotto keeps his gaurd high when on the outside and chin tucked when exchanging on the inside. He must also be very carefull when stepping in whith his jab because margo can catch him coming in. But cotto does have good form and keeps his right hand up to protect his right side from counter hooks, so if he keeps his game smart I see no reason for him to get rocked too badly.
