I don't think the casual fan gives a honk about where the fight is held. Hell, most of the diehards don't, unless they're going.

Some guys just don't generate a fanbase. Bradley for example. He's taken on some of the biggest names in the sport, but just doesn't have the fans.

I do think you're right about Ward having to become a little more fan friendly, and in hindsight it seems to be a gaffe missing out on Bute.

I do think Ward'll end up being ok, just on the basis of being more active and having a major network behind him. However, I don't htink he'll ever achieve the levels of attraction as Mayweather.

Boxing is frankly dead here in the states, but I have some ideas...

Ward should embrace his Irish Heritage. Change his name to Andy "Irish" Ward, fight primarly in Boston, come to the ring in a all green suit and top hat with the Dropkick Murphy's "Sailing off to Boston" or such **** as his entrance theme. He should give up his negative boxing style but keep the constant fouling and just "work the ribs" or look for one punch knockouts..even if it costs him the match, and it will..it will cost him many.

I gurantee, Mark Walhberg will be producing a movie in two years time...mabye even star as Andy Ward himself.

This is very simple. Talk sh|t to every opponent say you're the greatest ever treat your dad like a piece of sh|t slap your girlfriend strangle a kitten and eat your neighbors dog then he'll be the biggest star in boxing.

i personally enjoy watching his fights... the skill level/craft is just something else... but for the general pubic he needs to hold onto his 0 and keep busy... as long as he holds his 0 people will watch him... the bigger his wins column gets the bigger star he will become

Who said he needs to rematch Froch but Froch v Ward at wembley stadium 90.000 + people would be a super fight which style wise Ward should win

That's exactly what he's doing :good I'm in Oakland right now and everyone knows who Andre Ward is here. I just met him the other day by standing in line for three hours like a ride at Disneyland in summer at a Pleasanton shopping mall (20 minute drive from Oakland) He gave my son an autographed glove and spent a lot of time talking to us. He's one heck of a cool dude man! Too bad that a nice guy persona doesn't appeal to some boxing fans. If someone wants to see a bad guy boxer I suggest watching "Clubber Lang" in Rocky 3 again. Ward is real. What you see is what you get. I think Andre would rather be a CHAMPION as opposed to a STAR unless he's broke which I doubt. As far as fighting outside of Oakland or L.A. or Atlantic City, he's the Champ and he's the one that should dictate where the venue is IMO. Cracks me up to read that he should return the favor to Froch! Why? Because Froch got his arse kicked badly?

I agree with the "Keep fighting the best, keep winning, and keep being relevant" :good

"Just win Baby" Oakland mojo :bbb:fire

Ward is a boring fighter. He needs to start knocking guys out if he wants to create a buzz and get people interested in him...he also needs to move up in weight and win titles at 175

His feather fists, boring style and complete lack of personality ensure he'll never be a star.

Its just the way it is.
