I second that. Zu is one of the best fighters of all time! Floyd never wanted any parts. Same goes with Clottey, Margarito, Williams, and Berto!

One of the best Light Welterweights.

He beat more and better 140 contenders than Aaron Pryor.

guy was a beast at 140
i feel strongly that he was one of the best jr welterweights of the past 20 yrs or so...
but what i really like about him, the guy was genuinely one of the nicest and most honorable guys you can find in the fight game... i remember when he was fighting the shot to **** cesar chavez in a totally partisan arena in arizona and julio tried pulling all his dirty **** to try to get the fight into the muck, and kostya just wouldn't be a party to it... when chavez hit him on the break or hit him low or tried to butt him, tszyu just got this look of amazement like wow youre gonna resort to that?? and of course then he brutally crushed chavez, humiliating him and making his corner throw in the towel

then i remember the aftermath of the tszyu fight, which was the most piqued i ever saw him, when they asked if he would offer a rematch and his response was basically hellz no, zab said thered be no rematch before the fight, so theres no rematch after the fight...

and then when he'd been idle for a while and people started saying he was shot, he fought sharmba mitchell the 2nd time and just 100% owned him... one of his best performances

That's because they're Welterweights who've reached their prime well after Tszyu and were never on his radar. I'd easily favor every one of them over Tszyu at WW considering he wasn't a WW himself, Berto being the only possible exception.

Duran fought nothing like Tszyu aside from the fact that he held his right hand high and would often lead with it. He holds every other edge, including defense, in-fighting, and punch variety.

I think losing to Hatton is no disgrace. I certainly put Hatton above the likes of Gatti in resume, he's not just an exciting fighter; I mean, he doesn't get in wars with journeymen for starters.

People just hate Hatton for being limited, but he's very effective. And in his hometown, he was spurned on to a great victory. Tszyu should make Hatton look better; losing to Hatton shouldn't make Tszyu look crap.

I think he's insinuating that Mayweather has ducked those guys....Berto??!?!?!?!? God, just cause he holds the WBC strap, he's just a prospect still.

I honestly believe, in a hypothetical situation, if Tszyu was to move up o WW and fight Berto he would've battered him.

Vince Phillips wasn't great, but he was decent and clearly gave Tszyu all he could handle.

Chavez was way past it but Tszyu seriously battered him. Still a good name on his resume.

I disagree mostly, but still a good post, you have set out your argument well, but I just cannot accept that Tszyu would even make a fight with Wilfred Benitez close. Benitez wins almost every round in that one, no doubt IMO.

Peak Duran would dominate Tszyu, and I am confident Pryor would beat him too.

Oh, so there are still idiots pushing that canard. Despite the fact that Tszyu was either injured, obligated to fight Hatton, or semi-retired during Mayweather's entire stint at 140, Floyd still managed to duck him.
