how would calzaghe do against the SMW's of today...ward, froch, bute direll etc?

I just realized Joe would only fight any of these guys only if they were in their late 30's early 40's so yes Joe beats them all:hey

 

Do not like Ward fighting Dawson at 168 it's a no win situation for both if Dawson wins he is fighting the smaller man and if Ward wins everyone will say he drained Dawson. Ward shouldve fought his mandatory and then the winner of Bute-Froch if it was Bute and then moved up and beat Dawson. Dawson could have rematched Pascal or outboxed Cloud to make the fight bigger. Things never go the way you want them to.....

 

I am sure he would. No doubt for a second.

The only one that MAY be an issue is Ward. If Ward does not work with Conte.. then I am fairly sure Calzaghe beats Ward after round 5-6. If Ward works with Conte and gets 'special remedies' then it would be a very interesting fight.

 

How can you all keep saying he beat a better version of Kessler. He most certainly didnt. Kesslers main experience has come from fighting the top dogs in the super 6 and he has improved as a result of that.

To be fair mate you have a point, Andre Ward would of been a tough night for Joe and although i would still favour him, he certainly would not be a huge favourite so fair play to you on that.

As for people suggesting Calzaghe had a glass chin are yous ****ing ******ed? guy had 46 straight wins, fought god knows how many world champions never got stopped ONCE. how the **** does that constitute a glass chin?

today's smw is the weakest ever.

i don't know why these crop of crap who has not accomplished anything yet is being compared to calzaghe.

he beats them all.

ward - featherfisted, not exactly even faster than calslappy.

dawson - what is there to say? he sucks. he is a mental midget without a killer instinct, not a single drop.

super 3 is one hell of an overrated tournament.

i don't understand why the darchinyan-agbeko-mares tournament is not regarded better considering that has more pedigree and credibility.

OK you nonse how many good opponenets did Keslsler fight before Calzaghe? not many as far I can remember. And he has fought some champions since then ok Froch isnt **** but hes one dimensional.

Whats your opinion on a prime RJJ in the S6?

Dont forget he fought Wards style up at 175 against Hopkins out of his prime in a new weight for the first time, he would beat Ward to a comfortable decision

As for Dawson he can be good at times but even against a 47 year old Hopkins he stepped off the gas and Pascals work rate was enough to give Dawson problems, with Calzaghe it would go on for 12 rounds. Joe would Lacy Dawson

Bute is the closest that comes to winning but over all I think Calzaghe wins by work rate alone, Bute would turn it into a tear up but Calzaghe would get the best on the inside
