Foreman and Bowe didn't face top 10 opponents unless they held a belt so realistically neither are likely to fight Whyte unless he became undisputed champ.
Check out some amateur footage of him too, for context, if you've never seen it. As an athlete, I feel like he lost a surprising amount as a pro by the time he was doing his best work. His offense used to be faster, sharper, more creative, sometimes a bit airplane-y, but not in a bad way. I'm not a huge Whyte guy (boy, that would sound funny if this conversation were in person) and this is not from a great deal of memory but I seem to remember that this was the case, that around the time he fought Parker I reviewed him against...AJ (? maybe) in the amateurs and I was actually taken aback. I'd seen it before but I was thinking he may be in his older heavyweight prime, as far as how professional heavies in the modern day peak, but as an overall athlete, he's really dropped off in a surprising way, to my eye, now.
It's unlikely Whyte is top 10 for any significant amount of time. He would lose to mediocres like Akinwande and Hide
The same as he did in this era. Hed be a fringe contender overachiever whod be in some entertaining fights but lose to any of the top guys. Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis etc. Could see it being interesting vs Holyfield if Holyfield fights dumb
He’d beat Michael Bentt, Jesse Ferguson, Oliver McCall, him against Mercer would be a war Stylistically, but Whyte would lose, he’d beat Henry Akinwande, I’d pick him against Tommy Morrison, but that’s an interesting fight and it depends on how Morrison chooses to box, I’d pick him against John Ruiz and Hasim Rahman, comes unstuck against guys like Moorer.
He really wasn't. He would struggle with Akinwandes reach, watch Whyte spar Okolie and fight Helanius. He was even more chinny than both. He could beat Hide tho, but would have problems finding him. Whyte is just a plodding slugger, he's like a Ruddock analog without the fundamentals
Razor Ruddock was in the top 10 for years despite only beating shot fighters and not having any wins over guys who were relevant at the time. No doubt Whyte could take a similar route.
They played a similar role in the division but Ruddock put a good showing against Tyson and took some nasty shots from Tyson and Morrison. Whyte would get destroyed in 2 rounds tops He's inferior in all aspects. What does Whyte do better than Ruddock outside of bodyshots which is his forte. In a fight between Ruddock and Whyte do you actually think Whyte would win ?
