ROFL. I couldnt help but to laugh when I read this post.

Although delusional, dumb and brain damaged(he certainly believed at least some of what he was saying) his main motivation was money - ultimately he got what he wanted. I ordered that card with a high school buddy and it was pretty good apart from that farce... Diaz/Davis was a really bloody and brutal fight. Oh yeah. Couture being handed a black belt was extremely cringe. Like submitting a fat and brain damage boxer with almost zero grappling experience warrants receiving an honorary black belt? Though.. As much as that fight being set up annoyed(still does) the UFC has been far worse and seems shifting more towards this kind of thing(freakshows) even more. Honestly miss the Zuffa days.

 

I'm soooo glad Toney got dealt with like that though He said some gross stuff about MMA fighters that I can't even repeat on here.

 

I'm indifferent... But at the time I feel like it set the sport back.

I trained BJJ/grappling and saw so many examples of just average people who were not athletic phenoms that started training and after a year in most cases not even at blue belt level absolutely toy with bigger guys with football and other martial arts backgrounds.

I will not elaborate on this story and I hate dropping names while holding back other information but a I saw a Brown belt were I trained control Ben Askren when he was a purple belt and they rolled no gi as well. They were essentially the same size. but Askren was five years younger. We had better guys than him that trained there as well but not full time.
