i agree. Ali for the most part would use an opponents strength against themselves like he did with Foreman. most of tyson's opponents never had the chin or anywhere the skill level close to Ali except for Spinks, who i think was almost like a miniature version of Ali but still not as fast. Ali would throw 3-4 consecutive pawing jabs while mike would bob and weave and when he'd try to lunge or throw that fight ending right hand, Ali backs up and counters mike. i think also Ali's punches would be more affective to mike's face and bust him up pretty bad because if Ali sat on his punches more they would land harder on the shorter fighters face, which would be mike. it would be close, but Ali handles him in the late rounds, when mike isn't as affective.

LEts take a look at some points

PRe prison tyson never broke down mentaly
pre prison tyson was fast accurate and determined. always trained (except for the Buster fight.)

ali was a great HW but not the greatest. i have louis,Lewis, marciano, tyson, dempsey, all beating him PRime evender, bowe, holmes, are 50/50 fights.

thing is ali would have trouble with tyson's speed and combo's tyson however would be troubled by Ali's beautiful movement.

88 Tyson from the Spinks fight would kill ali.. If Frazier can win one, Mike who's like a frazier on PCP would murder Ali.

nobody can say this - and i mean nobody.

but that works both ways .

i'd give up a lung to see tyson - ali though. for 3 rounds anyway.

tyson post prison is a poster child for the importance of the mental game.

    so you're right.

i also got jail time as an am boxer and it makes a huge difference

Don't forget that for a fight like this Tyson would have taken it very seriously. Trained hard, watched a lot of footage of Ali and tried to work him out, he would have seen it as a massive challenge and prepared in depth.

Pity Tyson doesn't post on this site coz he'd have a lot of boxing knowledge and insights especially in relation to this kind of thing.

Tyson would have been intimidated???? I doubt it. Tyson had damn good speed in his prime. Let's not make Ali out to be a god like a lot of people do. And if Tyson connected Ali would have gone to sleep too.

An early Ali would demoralize Tyson.
An old Ali would trick Tyson.
    Tyson is beat either way.

"Tyson is WAY better than Frazier ????" .. i wouldn't go that far to say hes way better lol Joe Frazier in his prime might have gave Tyson all sorts of problems.

There is one thing to add,Muhammad Ali was never scared or intimidated by nobody including Sonny Liston, and he was known as one of the most intimidating heavyweights of all time!

I believe when Ali stepped in the ring in 1967 he could NOT be beaten by any heavyweight ever!!
When Ali stepped in that ring he owned that ring! The ring was his home he knew every move in the book And he was the smartest Heavyweight ever to lace up the boxing gloves!

Tyson in his prime was a great, intimidating fighter, but to say he puts a prime Ali to sleep is not likely.

The prime champion Tyson had to go to the cards with Bonecrusher Smith and Tony Tucker, and it took him 6 rounds of heavy bombs to finish off Pinklin Thomas..

Ali faced many great punchers and was never stopped (Dundee pulling him from the Holmes fight does not qualify). Liston twice, Foreman, Patterson, Norton, Frazier, Shavers, the list goes on. Liston, Foreman, and Shavers are 3 of the biggest punchers in history and Ali, handled them, and in the case of Foreman and Shavers, Ali was past his prime.
