Before we have the big fight tomorrow I want to know how you guys think Kovalev would handle B-Hop's opponents after he scored the Pascal upset back in 2011? And if the perception will change after the fight?

    Chad Dawson

    Tavoris Cloud

    Karo Murat

    Beibut Shumenov

My idea is that only Murat might make it into the 2nd half of the fight but will get stopped shortly after.
Man I can't wait until the actual fight! :wooo

None of them including Pascal make it past 5 rounds.

Lol... pascal has iron chin. No way he gets knocked out. Dawson probably beats him too. He beats murat and shumenov though

    Dawson, seriously? :blood

I guess you mean the Dawson that fought B-Hop then, because current (post Ward debacle) Dawson isn't even a shadow of his former self. He recently even lost to Karpency for crying out loud.

Well, "B-Hop's post Pascal opponents", I guess that means the Dawson that fought Hopkins, don't you think?

That's actually not what I meant when I put up the thread, rather like if these guys fought Kovalev in the near future. But I guess it's better as a complete head to head comparison if they were at the same level as they were against Hopkins.

Yes that Dawson. Today's Dawson is shot. And I can't get past the fact that some think he would knock Pascal out lol. The man never even been knocked down and went the full 12 rounds against Froch in an absolute slugfest. The hype is getting out of hand.

Funny thing is Dawson looked like s#it against Pascal as well - or at least until Jean did his gassing trick in the last coupla rounds and nearly threw it all away.

TBH neither Dawson or Pascal really look that special (unless you reckon Diaconu to have been a major force at LHW). Pascal ain't that good and is principally regarded for beating a shockingly lacklustre Dawson, and Dawson's only considered really special for beating Hopkins.

If I were to choose to play devils advocate I could argue on the basis of this that Dawson looked bad both before and after the Hopkins fight yet somehow beat Hopkins anyway. What on earth shall we make of this shocking information?

Can anyone make the case that Pascal is somehow an elite LHW if you take out the Dawson win (in which to be blunt both guys ended up looking bad)?

Who Jean beat? Diaconu x2:roll: - a loss to Froch. Let's face it, all Pascal has is the Dawson win, but wait a minute - Dawson just got beat by Tommy fukkin Karpency! What if Bad Chad just ain't that good? Where does that leave Pascal. More significantly, where does it leave BHops?

Y'all following? I know these kinda arguments stink like shit, but if you wanted to it's quite possible to argue that Hopkins LHW resume is pretty much smoke and mirrors.

However. it get's us nowhere. Most fighters resumes can be pulled apart if we choose to, and it still doesn't tell us who's gonna win the fight. I'm more than happy to wait and see what both guys bring tomorrow and have frankly got dog sick of talking about it, thinking about it and bullshiting about it. Finally this shit's gonna get settled in the ring.:bbb
