Probably the same outcome maybe even a stoppage... I think Williams is a better fighter than what he showed tonight ... and I think Martinez doesn't get enough credit for what he's able to do. The stoppage against Margarito was questionable at that time of the fight. Pavlik is strong ... and he's an awesome fighter but I don't think he has the ability to move like Martinez ... I think that Pavlik could've gotten a knockdown against Williams but I doubt that he would've been able to match wits and adjust to Williams like Martinez. Pavlik comes straight forward ... he doesn't move side to side or in or out ... he's not that slick and very predictable.
Styles make fights. Pavlik does not counter well at all. He does not throw a right hook or a straight left hand. He does not move well or respond to movement well. Paul is way too fast and rangy for him. He would be thoroughly outclassed and that's why him and his team ducked Williams in the first place; because they knew he couldn't win.
We have a winner. Williams gets hit form EVERYBODY. Countless times. Even if you put a gun to his head he will refuse to dodge a punch. LOL, talking about one dimensional, in the first Quintana fight he was hit with the same punch over and over again...............and never ****ing adjusted. You can't win against Pavlik with shitty defense..............he will beat you down. One question to all you Einsteins, why do you think Hopkins let Pavlik never set while being the far bigger man? Yeah, because he knew that Pavlik can seriously crack and exchanging with him gets you hurt.
My prediction of Pavlik over Williams by something bordering on manslaughter isn't based on tonights fight. It's based on the fact that PW gets hit by right hands and left hooks everytime he faces a skilled opponent. you cannot get hit repeatedly by two of Pav's 3 best punches and expect to see the middle rounds.
Exactly. I don't know where this lamebrained **** comes from, but good lord. If Tony Margarito was bouncing right hands off Paul's head, there is no doubt in my mind Pavlik will do the same!
Different fight. I would hope Paul would not fight Kelly the way he fought Martinez or he would have been in trouble. I am not sure why Paul was so sloppy tonight, yet against Winky he was so good. Was Winky washed up? Who knows.
I was predicting a KP vs PW fight to be a TKO round 7 win for Kelly, after tonight I have no doubt this does not last more then 4 or 5 rounds. PW has NO business over 154, I don't care how long his reach is or how active he is. The guy is WAAAAAAY to open to counters, left hooks and straight rights. Exciting fighter, good to the sport unfortunately somewhat overrated and the first guy he gets in there with that is the same height that hits hard will be PW's end=K PAVLIK
Margarito also stood flat footed in front of Paul and slipped his jab repeatedly. Where the **** people get this idea that Williams is fast is beyond me.
Pavlik would have hammered the **** out of Williams. It's not so much the whole southpaw style of Martinez that convinces me, it's Paul's inability to defend and the fact that he was dropped and hurt by a lighter punching jr. middlewight. If Martinez found the target so easily then I'm sure Pavlik could do some scoring of his own and with Pavlik he wouldn't need to land nearly as much to put Williams down and out.
