No truth at all In fact I don't think they ever sparred Kirk's manager wouldn't agree to it No one wanted to spar with Ike he hit so hard. I held the pads for him ONCE!! lol couldn't move my shoulders right for two or three days
I don't think it was the fight that got to Ike. I firmly believe it was the 14 months under heavy sedation they kept him under because they were scared of what he MIGHT do!!!; They had no proof to charge him on they kept badgering him to cop a plea & he'd be back boxing in 6 months. He finally gave in but the woman judge gave him the max sentence 5-30 years He was sold down the river that was enough to send a saint crazy
Ike was admitted into hospital immediately after that fight I believe. I heard he was experiencing bad headaches. Tua went home, but you're right, Tua never boxed as good as I seen him against Ike after their fight. I think a prime Ike would do very well. He would outbox and knockout a lot of contenders that we have around now. Ike could take a punch, punch hard and box. He was a handful.
Ike is a mythical beast. Good power, excellent chin and good stamina. However, he wasn't a great boxer. That's why he struggled so terribly with Tua. He is always a threat H2H because of his physical attributes, but I would quite comfortably pick AJ and Fury to beat him.
He beat himself. Absolute tragedy what he did to himself. IMHO he was the next great hw. People forget he had just turned 26 years old a month before his last fight. He was only going to get better.
All he did wrong was call that greedy lying hooker in Vegas SHE along with that woman judge ruined Ike's career & life
The lies & absolute stupidity of some people have given Ike Ibeauchi a bad name & ruined his career just like they did Antonio Margarito. Ike never laid a hand on that hooker or the cops. Antonio Margarito was only guilty of SWEATING!! & that turned into "Loaded gloves"
