When was Bowe ever in shape? He shares that distinction with Fury who was maybe in shape for 1 career fight vs Wlad Klit. I don't see current Fury having huge problems with securing a decision on Bowe with Bowe taking a few mid rounds before going back in his shell.

It's easy to be brave when you have nothing to lose but when Bowe had the belts to milk as you say that's what he did rather than facing his contractually obligated opponent. He agreed to face Lewis if he beat Holyfield to get a title shot before Lewis and then reneged on that promise, pure and simple.

Was he scared to fight Lewis, no probably not but his management didn't want the fight which is why the offers were low ball types or ones with conditions, designed to be rejected and fact is Bowe was more than happy to do what his management said. In contrast Lewis was advised by Maloney not to accept the terrible offer from Newman but Lewis told Maloney he was going to accept it and made Maloney reach out to make the fight only for Newman to retract the offer and say it was too late.

One man desperately wanted the fight to the extent he was willing to accept a low ball offer and when roles were reversed did attempt to low ball the other giving him 40% the other was more than happy to avoid the fight and not willing to give the other a fair split.

Bowe admitted he just did what his team told him to, this was in front of Lewis suveral years ago when all the top heavies from the 90`s were on a stage to talk about Wilder and AJ.

Bowe was a lot lighter in his frst fight v Holy than in their rematch when Bowe lost a decision.

That was his main problem once the big money arrived. Any discipline he had went out the window.

I reckon they walk into an all you can eat buffet shoulder to shoulder and the owner immediately shoots himself in the head.

Seriously though if Fury boxes him, he wins wide on points. If they mix it up Bowe could win.

He was in shape until he became undisputed heavyweight champion, something fury has never accomplished. He became undisputed by defeating an all time great fighter, another thing Fury has ever accomplished. Plainly, I think peak Bowe was better than peak Fury

If Andrew Golota dominated Bowe so easily what’s to say Fury couldn’t outbox him? The only seriously motivated Bowe we saw where he was on point was Holyfield 1, and he had a significant size advantage over Evander. I use to think he would beat Fury but now I’m not so sure and think Fury would take the decision or possibly get a tko.

He never held the wbo in 92 so technically not undisputed by today's standard. Sad state of affairs that a 25 y/o can't maintain discipline. I don't think there's much between them but Fury is unbeaten and showing no sign of being Golota'd despite his indiscipline, will probably finish ahead of Bowe in the all time list.

The best Bowe I've seen is better than the best Fury I've seen, just my opinion. Bowe letting himself go and falling apart early in his career doesn't change anything to me but i also don't see any reason to think an out of shape Fury just walks through Golata isn't capable of losing to someone like him either

He was undisputed as the WBO was not as established as it is now, thee was no point in beating the WBO champ in 92, they were lesser contenders than Holyfield.
